Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was stabbed in Lambeth.

Police were called at approximately 14:10hrs on Monday, 22 January to reports of a group of males being attacked by a lone suspect armed with a knife on Fountain Place, SW9.

A 15-year-old boy suffered a stab wound to his torso. He and his friends ran off along Bramah Road and into Crawshay Road, where the victim collapsed inside a café.

The suspect followed them and tried to enter the café, but could not gain access as the door had been barricaded. He left and walked back towards Fountain Place.

Officers were called to the café, where they administered first aid prior to the arrival of the London Ambulance Service.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a south London hospital, where he was treated for his injuries before being discharged. Nobody else was injured in the assault.

Detective Constable Steven Fares, of Lambeth CID, said: “I urge anyone who may have seen this attack to come forward and speak to police as soon as possible.

“Luckily this victim didn’t suffer any life-changing injuries, unlike so many other victims of knife crime, but I still want to be sure we speak to as many witnesses as possible.

“This happened in a built-up, residential area, and I am appealing to anyone who may have seen or heard anything of the incident who has not yet spoken to police to contact me.”

A 29-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences in connection with this incident.

An officer has been found not proven of using unreasonable levels of force.

PC James Nattrass, based on Merton Borough, faced a misconduct hearing which concluded on Friday, 16 February.

It was alleged that on 13 December 2014, PC Nattrass had used unlawful and/or unreasonable levels of force on a person, specifically pushing them and causing them to be lifted from their feet and fall to the ground.

In doing so, the officer faced allegations that his conduct was in breach of the Met’s standards of professional behaviour in respect of ‘use of force’.

The panel, having taken all the evidence including CCTV footage into consideration, found the case not proven.

The officer, who had been placed on restricted duties during the investigation, will now resume full duties.

Police are appealing for the public’s help to find a missing 81-year-old man from Edgware.

William Battman, also known by the name ‘John’, was last seen at about 10:00hrs on Sunday, 18 February leaving his home address on Goldbeaters Grove to go for a short walk.

He is described as white, about 5ft 7ins tall and of thin build.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing jeans, black shoes and a black cardigan. He has a walking stick

He is known to frequent the Edgware, Edmonton and Totteridge Lakes areas.

William is deaf and suffers from dementia and so he may be confused.

Officers are increasingly concerned for William’s wellbeing and would urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to call police on 101 or Missing People on 116000.

Detectives investigating the murder of a teenager in Canning Town have arrested and charged two people.

On Saturday, 17 February, two 17-year-old males [A and B] were arrested.

Both were charged with the murder of 17-year-old Lord Promise Nkenda from Newham and further charged with robbery. They will appear in custody at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 19 February.

An investigation was launched after officers were called by London Ambulance Service shortly after 20:00hrs on Wednesday, 14 February to reports of a male suffering stab injuries on Goldwing Close, E16.

Officers attended and Lord Promise Nkenda – known as Promise – was pronounced dead at the scene at 20:38hrs.

A post-mortem examination at East Ham Mortuary on 15 February gave cause of death as stab wounds to the chest.

Detective Inspector Perry Benton from the Homicide and Major Crime Command is leading the investigation.

Officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have launched a murder investigation after a man was fatally stabbed in Kensington.

At around 03:20hrs on Sunday, 18 February, officers on patrol were responding to reports of a large number of vehicles in Logan Place, W8, following a nearby party when they discovered a male with stab injuries.

They administered first aid prior to the arrival of London Ambulance Service.

Despite extensive efforts to revive him, the man, believed to be aged 19, was pronounced dead at the scene at 03:46hrs.

Enquiries are underway to inform next of kin. We await formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.

A 19-year-old man [A] was arrested near to the scene in connection with the incident. He has been taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell is leading the investigation. He said: “While we are in the very early stages of our investigation, we know there was a party at a nearby address on Earls Court Road around the time of this incident. We are still working to establish any link, but it does mean the area would have been busy with vehicles and pedestrians at the time.

“I want to hear from anyone who was in the area; did you witness an altercation? Every fragment of information is beneficial to our investigation and I would urge anyone who may know something to contact police immediately.”

Detectives in Bromley are appealing for information after two people were assaulted in their home.

At about 20:20hrs on Tuesday, 13 February two men called at an address in Almond Way, Bromley.

When the door was opened by the female occupant, a woman in her 50s, she was confronted by two men who were both wearing balaclavas

One of the suspects grabbed the woman and then punched her.

When she called for help her husband, a man in his 60s, went to her aid and was also assaulted.

Another member of the family was alerted by the altercation and the men ran off towards Farringdon Avenue, where they made off in car.

London Ambulance Service attended, but neither victim required hospital treatment.

No property was stolen, no arrests and enquiries continue.
