PROVIDENCE, RI – A Providence man indicted during a year-long joint Project Safe Neighborhoods investigation conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and Providence Police, to identify individuals possessing or trafficking firearms in and around the Chad Brown neighborhood of Providence, today pleaded guilty in federal court to firearms and drug trafficking charges.

As of today, a new decryption tool for victims of the GandCrab ransomware is available on www.nomoreransom.org. This tool has been released by the Romanian Police (IGPR) under the supervision of the General Prosecutor’s Office (DIICOT) and in collaboration with the internet security company Bitdefender and Europol.
First detected one month ago, GandCrab has already made 50 000 victims worldwide, a vast number of which in Europe, making it one of the most aggressive forms of ransomware so far this year.

Tyson Poultry Inc. was sentenced in federal court in Springfield, Missouri, to pay a $2 million criminal fine, serve two years of probation, and pay $500,000 to directly remedy harm caused when it violated the Clean Water Act, the Justice Department announced. The charges stemmed from discharges at Tyson’s slaughter and processing facility in Monett, Missouri that led to a major fish kill event.
