U.S. Marshals End Standoff in Western Michigan

Washington, D.C. – A standoff between the U.S. Marshals and two wanted suspects ended Wednesday with one suspect deceased, one arrested and one deputy U.S. Marshal injured.

The U.S. Marshals Special Operations Group (SOG) was attempting to serve arrest warrants for Lindsey and Giovanni McNab, at a residence in Goetzville, Michigan, when Giovanni opened fire on officers and injured one deputy Wednesday morning. The deputy remains in stable condition.

McNab, and his wife Lindsey were wanted out of Christian County, Missouri, for abduction and parental kidnapping. After Lindsey had been arrested earlier in the day, Giovanni had barricaded himself with two children inside the Goetzville residence.

The standoff ended Wednesday night when SOG members approached the residence and found McNab deceased. It is unknown at this time how McNab died. The two abducted minor children were found unharmed and were placed into the custody of child protective services.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and the FBI’s Detroit Field Office assisted the U.S. Marshals with the operation. The incident is under investigation. No additional details are available at this time. 

U.S. Marshals Arrest Man Involved in Dallas Police Carjacking

Shreveport, LA – The U.S. Marshals Shreveport Violent Offender Task Force, working a collateral lead from the North Texas Fugitive Task Force (NTFTF) in Dallas, TX, arrested a man wanted by the Dallas Police Department on Aggravated Robbery charges on Wednesday, August 09, 2023.

It is alleged that Redricous Lewis and others pinned a Dallas Police officer’s unmarked car with their vehicles before firing at the officer, who was not in uniform, hitting the officer in the leg. 

The Shreveport Violent Offender Task Force began investigating and discovered that Redricous Lewis was associated with an apartment off the 9400 block of Kingston Rd in Shreveport, LA. The Shreveport Police Department Special Response Team executed a search warrant for that apartment and Lewis leaped from the second floor of the apartment during the search. The Shreveport Violent Offender Task Force was able to arrest Lewis at a business off the 800 block of W Bert Kouns Industrial in Shreveport, LA and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene.  

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes and Property Crimes Detectives were called to the apartment to investigate. More suspects were arrested, guns were seized, and additional charges may be filed in this case.

U.S. Marshals Arrest West Virginia Murder Suspect in Baltimore

Charleston, WV – The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in Baltimore today arrested a Charleston man wanted for a first-degree murder in Huntington.
 
Matthew Jaquez Daughtery, aka Doobie, 24, of Charleston, was taken into custody without incident around 8:45 a.m. today at an associate’s residence in the 1300 block of Stricker Street.
   
Daughtery is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Southern District of West Virginia and the Huntington Police Department for his alleged role in the Nov. 30, 2022, murder of a Huntington man.
  
Responding to a shooting that day in the 1800 block of 9th Avenue, Huntington Police Officers discovered Christopher Johnson, 40, of Huntington, with gunshot wounds. Johnson was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he died from his wounds.
   
Through the investigation, it was alleged that Matthew Daughtery, along with Malik Hawk, Lawrence Foye and Demarquis Patterson conspired to murder Johnson. On January 27, 2023, arrest warrants were obtained by the Huntington Police Department for Matthew Daughtery, Malik Hawk, Lawrence Foye and Demarquis Patterson for the first-degree murder charge. Hawk, Foye and Patterson were taken into custody Jan. 27, but Daughtery had evaded apprehension.

“Today’s arrest represents the cooperation of multiple entities,” said Michael Baylous, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of West Virginia.  “I would especially like to thank the West Virginia Fusion Center for their invaluable assistance in this investigation and the important work they do collecting, evaluating and disseminating information to law enforcement agencies.”

Daughtery will be extradited back to Huntington to face the charge against him.

U.S. Marshals Looking for Female Rapper Charged with Murder of 10-Year-Old Boy

Norfolk, VA – The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a woman who is on the run from charges stemming from the shooting death of a child.

Tashawnda Nicole Drayton, aka “23 Brazy,” is wanted for first-degree murder and related firearms charges in connection to a shooting that left a 10-year-old boy dead and an adult male injured in Franklin, Virginia, Aug. 9.

Drayton is a Black female, with brown eyes and black hair. She stands 5 feet 11 inches and weighs approximately 250 pounds. She has “only loyalty” tattooed above her left eyebrow, “23 Brazy” in red letters on her forehead, along with several tattoos on her face and neck. Drayton also has multiple tattoos on both of her arms and hands.

Drayton has ties all over the Hampton Roads area and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Drayton has the following outstanding arrest warrants from the Franklin Police Department:

First-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling (two counts), use of a firearm in commission of a felony, threat to burn or damage a building, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and discharge of a firearm in a public place.

Bent County Jail Escapee Found Deceased in Southeast Colorado

Rocky Ford, CO – A fugitive escapee wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Bent County Sheriff’s Office has been located deceased in rural Otero County, Colorado.

The body of fugitive Mark Fox, 46, was located inside an unoccupied farmhouse near Colorado Hwy 71 and Hwy 10, approximately 5 miles south of Rocky Ford. The Otero County Sheriff’s Office received a call Saturday afternoon around 4:00pm from a former resident of the property who had returned to retrieve some property and discovered the body inside.

Due to the state of decomposition, it was not immediately apparent that Fox was the decedent. A forensic specialist from the FBI was brought in to assist in obtaining post-mortem fingerprints. An autopsy was performed Monday morning by the El Paso County Coroner’s Office. The cause of death is undetermined pending results of toxicology. It is believed Fox had been deceased for approximately 2-3 weeks upon discovery. No obvious signs of foul play are apparent at this time.

U.S. Marshals Looking for Escapee

Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force is requesting the public’s assistance and offering up to $5,000 as a reward for information leading to the apprehension of a fugitive who escaped from the custody of the Virginia Department of Corrections on August 11, 2023.

Naseem Isaiah Roulack, 21, escaped custody while seeking medical treatment at St. Mary’s Hospital in Henrico, Virginia.

Roulack is a Black male, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 225 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Inmate That Used Picnic Table to Escape Stark Regional Community Correction Center Arrested by U.S. Marshals in Canton

Canton, OH – The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) in Canton, OH arrested Ashley Helmick (27) earlier today on charges of escape from the Canton Police Department, stemming from an incident that occurred at the Stark Regional Community Correction Center.

It is alleged that on August 10, 2023, Helmick used a picnic table to climb a fence and then scaled the roof to ultimately escape from Stark Regional Community Correction Center. On July 19, 2023, Helmick was court ordered to enter and successfully complete the residential program at Stark Regional Community Correction Center. Helmick was admitted on August 7, and was only in the program a total of three days before escaping the confines of the correction center.

The NOVFTF and the Stark Regional Community Correction Center began investigating Helmick’s whereabouts in the Canton, OH area immediately following the escape. The NOVFTF was able to locate and arrest Helmick today at an address in the 400 block of Hazlett Ave NW, Canton, OH.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The strong partnership between the U.S. Marshals Service and the Stark Regional Community Correction Center resulted in the arrest today. We will continue to build upon our strong relationship, to make the communities we serve a safer place to live. Without this partnership and our dedicated officers, an escaped fugitive would still be on the streets of Stark County.”

U.S. Marshals Arrest Four, Two Wanted for Homicide

Cleveland, OH – This morning, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Jordan Hicks, 19, Jaylon Hicks, 19, Darden Carter 18, and Joshua Ziegler, 20. Jordan and Jaylon Hicks were wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder.

It is alleged that on July 2, 2023, two vehicles were involved in an apparent shootout at the intersection of St. Clair Avenue and London Ave., in Cleveland. As Cleveland Police arrived on scene, there were three male juvenile victims located, who had all suffered various gunshot wounds. One of the juveniles succumbed to the gunshots wounds and was pronounced dead on scene. Jordan and Jaylon Hicks were identified as two of the suspects involved in the deadly shooting and homicide warrants were issued for them by the Cleveland Division of Police.

Today, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jordan Hicks and Darden Carter at an address near the 4200 block of E. 175th Street in Cleveland. Carter had warrants issued by the Cleveland Division of Police for arson and the Cuyahoga County Sheriffs Department for vehicle theft. Task force members arrested Jaylon Hicks and Joshua Ziegler at an address near the 14300 block of Northfield Road in Cleveland. Ziegler had a warrant issued by the Cleveland Division of Police for receiving stolen property. Three firearms were located and seized from the residence at the time of arrest.  

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Four fugitives and three firearms were taken off the streets of Cleveland today. Our men and women will continue to do our part to help the Cleveland Division of Police keep the streets of Cleveland safe.”

U.S. Marshals, WV State Police Announce Results of Operation Blue & Gold Shield

Charleston, WV – The U.S. Marshals Southern District of West Virginia CUFFED Task Force and West Virginia State Police have just ended a two-week operation targeting non-complaint sex offenders in Kanawha, Wood, and Wirt counties, as well as surrounding areas.

Operation Blue & Gold Shield began August 7th and concluded on August 18, 2023. 

Multiple sex offenders taken into custody were found to be non-compliant with the sex offender registry. In total, 39 felony arrests were made in the operation, to include nine for violations of the sex offender registry, and five for sex related crimes. Others with various warrants were also taken into custody for crimes of first-degree murder, attempted murder, second- and third-degree sexual assault, possession of child pornography, soliciting a minor via computer, escape, delivery of controlled substances, and supervised release violations.

During the operation, 150 sex offender compliance checks were conducted by the West Virginia State Police. Out of 150 sex offenders, six were found to be out of compliance. Arrest warrants were obtained for those out of compliance. Two firearms were also seized.

The U.S. Marshals Service also found three non-compliant sex offenders to be in violation of the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act and The Adam Walsh Act.

One sex offender, Gabriel Allen Hargus, 46, of Mineral Wells, was also indicted in federal court for failure to register as a sex offender.

Hargus is wanted by the U.S. Marshals, the West Virginia State Police, and the West Virginia Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation, and is currently evading apprehension.

“The number of arrests and violations discovered over the past two weeks reminds us of the importance of regularly coordinating sex offender verification operations with the West Virginia State Police,” said Southern District of West Virginia U.S. Marshal Michael Baylous. “I hope that this operation puts all sex offenders in West Virginia on notice that if you fail to comply with the law, you will be brought to justice.”

U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests York Shooting Suspect in Scotrun, PA

Scranton, PA – Today, United States Marshal William Pugh announced the arrest of Kenell Chisholm, a 34- year-old York man, wanted by the York Police Department for Attempted Homicide and by the United States Marshals Service for Supervised Release Violations.

On December 9, 2022, the York City Police Department investigated an incident involving multiple shots fired on the 400 block of E. Philadelphia St. Three individuals were shot in this incident, including a 3-year-old child. As a result of their investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Chisholm with 3 counts of attempted homicide and related offenses. Attempts to find Chisholm were unsuccessful, and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Today at approximately 1:00 p.m., members of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Chisholm in the 400 block of Scotrun Avenue, Scotrun, PA. Chisholm was arraigned and remanded to the Monroe County Correctional Facility to await extradition to York County.
