Man Wanted for Killing Warren Woman Arrested by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Florida

Warren, OH –  The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) announces the arrest of wanted fugitive Noel Flores, 19. Flores was wanted by the Warren Police Department for homicide.

Flores is wanted in connection with the shooting death of Ashante Kirksey, 26, that occurred at her residence in the 900 block of Francis Avenue SE, Warren, OH on November 11, 2023. According to Warren Police, a second person was shot at the same location but was not identified in their report.

Late last week, the NOVFTF gathered information that Flores had fled Ohio and was staying near St. Petersburg, FL. The NOVFTF worked with the U.S. Marshals Service in Florida over the past few days and early this afternoon, Flores was located at an apartment in the 10100 block of 12th Way N, St. Petersburg, FL. Flores was found in possession of a 9mm firearm, which was the same caliber used during the commission of the homicide. The firearm was seized by authorities. Flores was booked into the Pinellas County Jail pending extradition to Ohio.  

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “This is another example of the dedication our task force officers put into every investigation. This fugitive attempted to evade the reach of the U.S. Marshals Service but was unsuccessful because we will never stop looking for them no matter how far they run.”

U.S. Marshals, FBI Looking for Violent Fugitive Wanted for Girlfriend’s Murder

Hammond, IN – The U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Fugitive Task Force and the FBI are seeking the public’s help in locating a violent fugitive wanted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department for murder and are offering a combined reward of up to $15,000 ($10,000 from the FBI and $5,000 from the USMS) for information leading directly to his arrest.

Samuel Edwards, 37, of Harvey, is alleged to have shot and killed his girlfriend Ieisha Jefferson, 31, of Gary, in front of their five young children Dec. 27, 2022. 

The Lake County Prosecutor’s Office charged him on Jan. 13 with one count of murder and five counts of felony child neglect.  

Edwards is a Black man with a medium complexion, short hair and possibly thick beard. He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs approximately 230 pounds. He has a mole beneath his left and right eye and several moles between his eyes. 

Edwards is known to frequent the Harvey and Chicago, Illinois, areas and has close ties there as well as in northwest Indiana.

WV Man Wanted for Numerous Sex Offenses Arrested by U.S. Marshals Task Force in MD

Martinsburg, WV – A man wanted in West Virginia for numerous sex offenses involving a minor was arrested Dec. 12 by U.S. Marshals in Clarksburg, Maryland.  

On July 19, a warrant was issued out of Berkeley County for Hwang Kim, who was charged with numerous sex offenses involving minors including first-degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian to a child.  

On Nov. 2, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force in apprehedending Kim.  Upon receipt of the case, investigators were able to develop information that indicated Kim was residing in Clarksburg, Maryland, and requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in apprehending him.  Kim was taken into custody without incident.  

“This case is another illustration of how well we work with our state and local agencies to bring wanted fugtives to justice,” said Acting U.S. Marshal Terry Moore.  “The charges against this fugitive are very serious and I am thankful for the hard work of our task force partners in getting this person into custody.”  

Kim is currently being held at the Montgomery County, Maryland, Correctional Facility as a fugitive from justice and is awaiting extradition back to West Virginia.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Suspect Wanted for Two Separate Homicides

Cleveland, OH – The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), in conjunction with the Cleveland Police Department (CPD), arrested Lavadus Morris (20) earlier this morning. Morris was wanted by both CPD and the Euclid Police Department (EPD) for separate homicides. 

Morris is the suspect in the murder of Terez Avery. Avery was killed on June 22nd in the area of East 103rd and St. Clair. Morris is also the suspect in the murder of Ty’Wan Johnson. Johnson was killed on September 24th, 2022, in the area of E. 240th and Puritan. Morris is the alleged shooter in both incidents. 

The NOVFTF was able to locate and arrest Morris earlier this morning in the 4100 block of Woodbridge Ave. in Cleveland. Morris will be booked into the Cuyahoga County jail where he will await his court appearance.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “The importance of today’s arrest can’t be understated. This individual has been terrorizing our community and needed to be taken off the streets. Our city is a safer place after the hard work of our officers and partners. I hope the families of the victims can find some solace with today’s arrest.”

U.S. Marshals Arrest Wells Man for Attempted Murder

Portland, ME – The U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force and the Wells Police Department announce the arrest of Emanuel Diggs, 22, of Wells, Maine. Diggs had a State warrant issued for his arrest for Attempted Murder on December 10th and was safely apprehended last night on December 11th, 2023.

On Saturday December 9th, 2023, at 4:42 p.m., the Wells Police Department took a report of an incident involving a firearm that happened the previous evening at a residence on Littlefield Road in Wells. Based upon their investigation, a warrant for arrest was sought and issued for Diggs. The Wells Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine Violent Offender Task Force to help locate and apprehend Diggs.

Through a collaborative effort from the United States Marshals Service (USMS) and the Wells Police Department, investigators developed information that Diggs was still in Wells, Maine. The USMS, Maine Violent Offender Task Force located Diggs and was able to apprehend him safely at a nearby gas station without incident. According to the Wells Police Department, future charges are likely.

U.S. Marshals Elevate East Baton Rouge Man Wanted for Murder to Most Wanted List, Offer up to $25K Reward

Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) has elevated to its 15 Most Wanted Fugitive List a man wanted by the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office for first-degree murder and attempted murder.

The USMS is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to Leethel White’s arrest.

“Adding Leethel White to the U.S. Marshals Service’s 15 Most Wanted list illustrates our agency’s commitment to taking dangerous fugitives off the street and making communities safer,” said USMS Director Ronald L. Davis. “The men and women of the U.S. Marshals Service will be relentless in their endeavor to bring Mr. White to justice.”

Leethel White aka “Lee Lee,” 46, is alleged to have shot two female associates at close range, killing one and severely injuring the other in a January 2016 incident in the Gardere area of Baton Rouge.   

White is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs approximately 215 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He has tattoos on both arms, his chest and his back. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Created in 1983, the USMS 15 Most Wanted fugitive program draws attention to some of the country’s most dangerous and high-profile fugitives. These fugitives tend to be career criminals with histories of violence who pose a significant threat to public safety. Generally, 15MW fugitives are considered the “worst of the worst” and can include murderers, sex offenders, major drug kingpins, organized crime figures and individuals wanted for high-profile financial crimes. Since the program began in 1983, more than 250 15MW fugitive cases have been closed.

The USMS has a long history of providing assistance and expertise to other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in support of their fugitive investigations. Working with authorities at the federal, state, tribal, and local levels, USMS-led fugitive task forces arrested more than 75,000 fugitives and cleared nearly 89,000 warrants in FY 2022.

U.S. Marshals and Akron Police Disrupt Gun and Gang Violence With Operation Triple Beam in Summit County

Akron, OH – The United States Marshals Service, Akron Police Department, and several other state and local task force partners in the greater Akron area worked diligently over the past thirty days to help combat gun violence and disrupt gang activity in the city of Akron. Operation Triple Beam is a collaborative law enforcement operation designed to focus on areas of high gun violence and gang activity. Task force members focused on taking violent fugitives and gang members off the streets with an emphasis on violent crime, habitual offenders, and gun and drug seizures.  

Over the course of the operation, 135 violent fugitives were arrested, and 22 firearms were taken off the streets and out of the hands of individuals who are prohibited from possessing them. A notable arrest during the operation occurred on November 7, when members of the task force arrested Chevron Mapp.  Mapp was wanted by the Akron Police Department for robbery, which during the robbery he assaulted a pregnant female before fleeing the scene.  Additionally, Mapp was under parole supervision and released only a year ago after serving 10 years for his participation in a violent aggravated robbery in the city of Akron in 2012.  

In response to the success of the operation, Akron Police Chief Steve Mylett stated, “The Akron Police Department and U.S. Marshals Service joined efforts in this initiative to make Akron and Summit County a safer place for our residents. We will continue to work diligently to control violent crime, specifically gun and gang related crime, in Akron. I hope our residents appreciate the level of commitment their officers have and how dedicated they are to keeping them safe.”

Pete Elliott, the U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio stated, “Operation Triple Beam in Akron has been a major success, with 135 violent fugitives safely taken into custody over a thirty-day period. I am proud of the hard work of our fugitive task force, the Akron Police and our other state and local law enforcement partners in the Akron area. Our unwavering partnership with the Akron Police Department proves that we are committed to ensuring the safety of the residents of Akron by taking violent fugitives off the street.”

Suspect Wanted for Akron Store Clerk’s Murder Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Akron, OH – This afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Da’Quan Mar’Ta Isaac, 26.  Isaac was wanted by the Akron Police Department for homicide.

According to police the victim, Ahmad Alibrahim, 21, and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation over the purchase of a cigar at a store in the 1300 block of South Arlington St. on Tuesday December 12.  The altercation turned deadly when Isaac pulled out a gun and shot the victim.

A warrant for Isaac was issued shortly after the incident and the investigation was turned over to the NOVFTF.  Today, members of the task force were able to track Isaac down to an address in the 700 block of Hazel St. in Akron.  Isaac was arrested without incident.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “Akron Police detectives did an outstanding job in quickly identifying the suspect, this is one of the most senseless murders in our community.  We will not let fugitives like this roam the streets.”

Suspect in 2014 Texas Homicide Arrested in Ashland

Ashland, OH – Earlier this morning, members of the United States Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Zykeshalla Murphy, 32.  Murphy was wanted by the Killeen, Texas Police Department for murder.

Murphy and another male were wanted in connection to a May 2014 murder that took place in Killeen, Texas.  A warrant for Murphy’s arrest was issued four days ago and members of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force in Texas begin working the investigation into the whereabouts of Murphy.  Investigators found that Murphy was currently on bond for a petty theft in Ashland, Ohio.  Members of the NOVFTF were able to locate Murphy and arrest her without incident at a home in the 800 block of Ohio Ave. in Ashland.

Murphy was booked into the Ashland County Jail and will remain there until she can be extradited back to Texas to answer for the charges against her.
