OKINAWA, Japan — Marines with 7th Communication Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, completed a weeklong field communications exercise at the Jungle Warfare Training Center, strengthening their ability to install, operate and maintain tactical networks in austere terrain while sharpening basic infantry tactics and skills.

SOUTH KOREA — Defense Logistics Agency Energy Commander Navy Rear Adm. George Bresnihan visited multiple military installations, Defense Fuel Support Points and energy supplier facilities in Korea and Japan in October 2025. These visits are part of a broader assessment of DLA Energy’s current support capabilities in the Indo-Pacific as well as planning for future energy requirements.

MARINE CORPS TRAINING AREA BELLOWS, Hawaii — 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, conducted a joint training exercise aimed at enhancing and synchronizing communications capabilities at Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, Hawaii, Oct. 22, 2025. This communications exercise involved collaboration between U.S. Marines with 3rd MLR and U.S. Army Soldiers from the 3rd Multi-Domain Task Force, as well as participation from U.S. Marines with 12th Marine Littoral Regiment based out of Okinawa, Japan.

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan — From Nov. 4–6, 2025, Marines and Sailors with Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 24, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), conducted the 250th Marine Corps Birthday Run. The event commenced at 5:00 p.m., a time deliberately chosen to synchronize with fellow Marines stationed in Japan. The running of the Colors was a tribute to heritage and legacy across the Wing. For 250 miles, the Colors remained in motion, in three different locations, honoring the Corps’ unbroken spirit.

KANAGAWA, Japan — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Japan Engineer District (USACE JED) Engineering Division held their annual Technical Forum at the Camp Zama Community Club on November 18th, 2025. This event, which included the Japanese Ministry of Defense (MoD) Facilities Engineering Group, marked the 27th year of this preeminent collaboration. It was also the second annual meeting between U.S. and Japanese defense engineers following disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FORT SHAFTER, Hawaii — On November 7, 2025, U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) hosted the activation ceremony of the 1st Theater Information Advantage Detachment (TIAD) at the historic Palm Circle, Fort Shafter. This event marked a significant milestone in the Army’s evolution toward information-age warfare, as the 1st TIAD became the first of three regionally aligned detachments designed to operate in the information environment.
