Detectiveshave released images of a man they wish to identify in connection with the sexual assault, robbery and attempted rape of a woman in an Ilford bakery.

Just before 04:00hrs on Thursday, 21 December, the 18-year-old victim was closing Ali’s Bagels, Cranbrook Road, Ilford after working overnight when the suspect approached the door and said that he knew the owner.

When the victim opened the door to speak with the suspect, he pushed his way in, grabbed the victim and dragged her to the rear of the shop, where he sexually assaulted and tried to rape her.

The victim was then forced to hand over her purse as a pair of scissors was held to her throat and the suspect stole £500 from her.

The suspect is described as black man in his 30s; of medium build with facial stubble. At the time of the attack he was wearing a grey hooded jumper, black jacket, dark grey bottoms and black trainers.

Detective Constable Angela Nemeth, of the Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command, said: “It is vital that the suspect in this case is trace as soon as possible. A vulnerable young woman, going about her job, is now dealing with being a victim of sexual assault and robbery, the effects of which run far deeper than a loss of cash.

“I urge anyone who recognises this male to speak with police as soon as possible. Your call could help us remove a dangerous criminal from the community or may eliminate someone from police enquiries. “

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Barking have this evening named the victim.

Although formal identification has not yet taken place, police believe the victim is 19-year-old Hasan Ozkan of Barking.

A special post-mortem examination took place today, Tuesday, 6 February at Queens hospital mortuary and gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command (HMCC) are investigating.

The investigation is being led by DCI Larry Smith. He said: “A young man appears to have been deliberately singled out by what we understand was a group intent on causing him serious injury. The attack has had fatal consequences and it is vital that those out there with information contact police.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who saw a group of males loitering in the area on the evening of the attack. Were you there? Did you see the suspects arrive or leave the scene?

“Anyone with information is requested to call the incident room on 0208 345 3985”

Police were called at approximately 22:11hrs on Saturday, 3 February, to reports of a stabbing in Abbey Road, Barking.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a 19-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 22:55hrs.

His next of kin have been informed; No arrests have been made at this early stage.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Superintendent Sean Wilson from the East Area Command Unit said: “Officers have been out in force talking to local residents and providing reassurance to those in the community who have no doubt been shocked by this brutal attack on a young man. We will continue to provide a high visibility presence and plan to host drop in meetings to hear back from those in and around the area.”

A man has been arrested in Camden following a raid carried out by officers from Central North Command.

Police executed the raid at an address on Cubitt Street, Camden at 06:25hrs on Tuesday, 6 February resulting in the arrest of a 27-year-old man on suspicion of burglary. He was taken to an east-London police station where he remains.

Items seized at the address include a Moncler designer jacket and a number of designer watches; mobile phones; bank cards and car keys.

The Moncler jacket and one set of Bentley car keys have been confirmed as having been stolen during a theft reported in December, where the items were taken from the victim’s car.

A mobile phone is also confirmed to have been stolen after it was traced to it’s owner who had recently been visiting London from the Netherlands when his phone was stolen in a moped-enabled snatch.

Detective Inspector Duncan Platt, from the North Area Tasking Team’, said: “Following this morning’s successful raid to combat theft and moped-enabled theft, we were able to recover a number of goods, some of which are already confirmed to be stolen. Today’s operation highlights the tireless efforts going into identifying thieves and bringing them to justice”.

Detectives investigating a police officer being threatened with a gun at Albercore Crescent, Lewisham on Saturday, 21 January have charged a youth.

A 17-year-old male [A] was charged on Monday, 5 February with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

The male has been remanded in custody to appear at Bromley Magistrates Court on 6 February.

A second 17-year-old male [B] and a 14-year-old girl [C] who were also arrested on suspiction of possession of a firearm were released under investigation.

Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Tottenham have this evening, Monday, 5 February, named the victim.

Although formal identification awaits, police believe that the victim is Mr Kwabena Nelson.

Investigators continue to appeal for information and witnesses following the fatal stabbing of Kwabena.

Detective Chief Inspector Luke Marks is leading the investigation. He said: “My team is ready to hear from anyone who heard or saw a road traffic collision or disturbance in Kemble Road and St Mary’s Close in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A number of enquiries including the review of local CCTV footage and forensic analysis is ongoing.

Police were called at approximately 01:28hrs on Saturday, 3 February, to St Mary’s Close, N17 to reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and found a 22-year-old man suffering from fatal stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination held at Haringey Mortuary on Monday, 5 February gave cause of death as hypovolemic shock and multiple stab wounds.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

A man has been jailed following the death of Swedish national, Mr Guzman Shannan.

Antonio Chiakka, 21 (14.04.96) of Enfield was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey on Friday, 2 February.

He was sentenced to six-years and six months at the same court on Monday, 5 February.

Detective Sergeant Matt Austin, said: “Guzman Shannan was in London visiting family when he was so tragically killed. What should have been a wonderful trip ended in tragedy for Mr Shannan and his family. I hope that today’s sentencing brings them a measure of comfort.”

Police were called to reports of a fight at Henrietta Place, W1, at 06:27hrs on 29 July 2017.

At the scene, officers found 49-year-old Guzman Shannan suffering from head injuries.

Mr Shannan was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital in a critical condition. He died on 2 August 2017.

A post-mortem examination held at St George’s Hospital Mortuary on 8 August 2017 gave cause of death as a head injury.

Following an investigation by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, police arrested Chiakka; he was charged with manslaughter on 4 August 2017.

++ Two other men, – both aged 21 – were arrested on suspicion of murder as part of this investigation. They were both subsequently released with no further action.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fail to stop collision in Thamesmead.

Police were called at approximately 10:20hrs on Thursday, 1 February to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian on Twin Tumps Way close to the retail park.

The 26-year-old pedestrian was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver failed to stop at the scene.

A car matching the description was later found abandoned on Belvedere Rood in Abbey Wood.

Detective Inspector Elaine Crossinggum, attached to Greenwich Borough said: “We urge anyone who may have seen this hit-and-run to please come forward and contact police.

“The victim was crossing the road when the driver failed to stop and left this man in a critical condition. We believe he headed off in the direction towards Belmarsh Prison.”

Seven men involved in the supply of approximately £1 million worth of cocaine were jailed for a total of more than 50 years on, Monday, 5 February at Isleworth Crown Court.

On 5 November 2017 all seven defendants were charged as follows:

Ergert Ibrihimi, 27 (13.11.1990), of no fixed abode was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to four years imprisonment.

Gentian Rina, 21 (5.4.1996), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Vilson Elezi, 29 (2.6.1988), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Damiano Kola, 21 (28.10.1996), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and two counts of possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to eight years and four months’ imprisonment.

Klodian Rina, 20 (4.3.1997), of Rymers Lane, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Lulzim Ramadani, 31 (18.6.1986), of Herschel Crescent, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, and two counts of possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to five years and eight months’ imprisonment.

Edison Zebi, 21 (12.7.1996), of no fixed abode was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to eight years and four months’ imprisonment.

All defendants pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing on 5 December 2017.

The gang was caught following an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Met’s Organised Crime Command.

Officers witnessed a meeting between Zebi and Ibrihimi in Lytton Road, Oxford on 5 November 2017. Zebi was seen handing Ibrihimi a black bag, which was later found to contain 12 blocks of cocaine.

Zebi and Ibrihimi were arrested, and following a search of a nearby property where Zebi was seen to have come from, five other men – Ramadani, Rina, Rina, Elezi and Kola – and 21 kilograms of cocaine were found. The property was being used by the gang to store, prepare and package the drugs.

Ibrihimi would travel from London to Oxford regularly to collect the parcels from this property. He would then return to London and distribute the drugs to gangs and organised crime networks across the city.

Ibrihimi would regularly use minicab services to travel to London and have the drivers wait while he conducted his deals.

In total detectives seized 32 kilos of cocaine and more than £1,000 in cash.

Kola, Ramadani and Zebi were also found in possession of stolen or false identity documents which were seized and investigated by officers in the National Document Fraud Unit.

Detective Inspector Mark Folan from the Met’s Organised Crime Command said: “This group of men had set up a system with the ability to distribute large amounts of cocaine across London. Through this intelligence led investigation we have stopped the drugs at source, crippling the gang’s ability to distribute drugs to street level dealers and gangs in London. I am incredibly proud of the team who were able to arrest a significant number of people involved, this has had a huge impact on their ability to continue their criminality.”
