Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Tottenham have this evening, Monday, 5 February, named the victim.

Although formal identification awaits, police believe that the victim is Mr Kwabena Nelson.

Investigators continue to appeal for information and witnesses following the fatal stabbing of Kwabena.

DCI Luke Marks is leading the investigation. He said: “My team is ready to hear from anyone who heard or saw a road traffic collision or disturbance in Kemble Road and St Mary’s Close in the early hours of Saturday morning.

“If you were there and have information or saw something please call us on the incident room on 0208 358 0200 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

A number of enquiries including the review of local CCTV footage and forensic analysis is ongoing.

Police were called at approximately 01:28hrs on Saturday, 3 February, to St Mary’s Close, N17 to reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance and found a 22-year-old man suffering from fatal stab injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination is taking place at Haringey Mortuary on Monday, 5 February.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

A man has been jailed following the death of Swedish national, Mr Guzman Shannan.

Antonio Chiakka, 21 (14.04.96) of Enfield was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey on Friday, 2 February.

He was sentenced to six-years and six months at the same court on Monday, 5 February.

Detective Sergeant Matt Austin, said: “Guzman Shannan was in London visiting family when he was so tragically killed. What should have been a wonderful trip ended in tragedy for Mr Shannan and his family. I hope that today’s sentencing brings them a measure of comfort.”

Police were called to reports of a fight at Henrietta Place, W1, at 06:27hrs on 29 July 2017.

At the scene, officers found 49-year-old Guzman Shannan suffering from head injuries.

Mr Shannan was taken by the London Ambulance Service to a central London hospital in a critical condition. He died on 2 August 2017.

A post-mortem examination held at St George’s Hospital Mortuary on 8 August 2017 gave cause of death as a head injury.

Following an investigation by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command, police arrested Chiakka; he was charged with manslaughter on 4 August 2017.

++ Two other men, – both aged 21 – were arrested on suspicion of murder as part of this investigation. They were both subsequently released with no further action.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fail to stop collision in Thamesmead.

Police were called at approximately 10:20hrs on Thursday, 1 February to reports of a car in collision with a pedestrian on Twin Tumps Way close to the retail park.

The 26-year-old pedestrian was taken by the London Ambulance Service to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The driver failed to stop at the scene.

A car matching the description was later found abandoned on Belvedere Rood in Abbey Wood.

Detective Inspector Elaine Crossinggum, attached to Greenwich Borough said: “We urge anyone who may have seen this hit-and-run to please come forward and contact police.

“The victim was crossing the road when the driver failed to stop and left this man in a critical condition. We believe he headed off in the direction towards Belmarsh Prison.”

A 39-year-old man [A] as arrested on Friday, 2 February on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. He has been released under investigation.

Seven men involved in the supply of approximately £1 million worth of cocaine were jailed for a total of more than 50 years on, Monday, 5 February at Isleworth Crown Court.

On 5 November 2017 all seven defendants were charged as follows:

Ergert Ibrihimi, 27 (13.11.1990), of no fixed abode was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to four years imprisonment.

Gentian Rina, 21 (5.4.1996), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Vilson Elezi, 29 (2.6.1988), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of criminal property. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Damiano Kola, 21 (28.10.1996), of Outram Road, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and two counts of possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to eight years and four months’ imprisonment.

Klodian Rina, 20 (4.3.1997), of Rymers Lane, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. He was sentenced to eight years imprisonment.

Lulzim Ramadani, 31 (18.6.1986), of Herschel Crescent, Oxford was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, and two counts of possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to five years and eight months’ imprisonment.

Edison Zebi, 21 (12.7.1996), of no fixed abode was charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and possession of a false identity document. He was sentenced to eight years and four months’ imprisonment.

All defendants pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing on 5 December 2017.

The gang was caught following an intelligence-led operation carried out by the Met’s Organised Crime Command.

Officers witnessed a meeting between Zebi and Ibrihimi in Lytton Road, Oxford on 5 November 2017. Zebi was seen handing Ibrihimi a black bag, which was later found to contain 12 blocks of cocaine.

Zebi and Ibrihimi were arrested, and following a search of a nearby property where Zebi was seen to have come from, five other men – Ramadani, Rina, Rina, Elezi and Kola – and 21 kilograms of cocaine were found. The property was being used by the gang to store, prepare and package the drugs.

Ibrihimi would travel from London to Oxford regularly to collect the parcels from this property. He would then return to London and distribute the drugs to gangs and organised crime networks across the city.

Ibrihimi would regularly use minicab services to travel to London and have the drivers wait while he conducted his deals.

In total detectives seized 32 kilos of cocaine and more than £1,000 in cash.

Kola, Ramadani and Zebi were also found in possession of stolen or false identity documents which were seized and investigated by officers in the National Document Fraud Unit.

Detective Inspector Mark Folan from the Met’s Organised Crime Command said: “This group of men had set up a system with the ability to distribute large amounts of cocaine across London. Through this intelligence led investigation we have stopped the drugs at source, crippling the gang’s ability to distribute drugs to street level dealers and gangs in London. I am incredibly proud of the team who were able to arrest a significant number of people involved, this has had a huge impact on their ability to continue their criminality.”

A man has been charged with further offences following a fatal collision in Croydon.

Stuart Abbs, 39 (01.09.78) of Court Wood Lane, Croydon was charged by postal requisition with:

– one count of causing death by dangerous driving;
– three counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving;
– three counts of ABH.

He is scheduled to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 20 February.

Abbs was previously charged on Wednesday, 6 December 2017 with:

– being the driver of a vehicle who failed to stop after a Road Accident contrary to Section 170 (4) of The Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988; and,

– being the driver of a vehicle involved a Road accident who failed to report that accident, contrary to Section 170 (4) of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 Road Traffic Offenders Acts 1988.

The charges relate to a road traffic collision in Pixton Way, Croydon, on 2 July 2017. A 16-year-old girl, Nicole Davis, died following the collision.

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was stabbed following an attempted moped-enabled theft.

Police were called at 21:23hrs on Sunday, 4 February to reports of a stabbing in Oxford Street.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found a 22-year-old man suffering from a stab injury.

He was taken to a central London hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

The victim was walking along Oxford Street with his friend when his mobile phone was snatched out of his hand by a pillion passenger on a moped.

The victim pursued on foot, caught up with the moped and grabbed the pillion passenger. The two had an altercation and the victim was stabbed.

Both the pillion passenger and the driver made off on the moped without the mobile phone in the direction of Great Portland Street.

Detectives from Westminster’s Serious Crime Unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to contact police.

No arrests have been made. Enquiries continue.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fail-to-stop collision in Redbridge.

At around 22:30hrs on Tuesday, 9 January, a silver BMW 330 Sport was in collision with a Vauxhall Vectra on the A406 Ilford Hill Flyover above the junction with A118 Romford Road and Ilford Hill.

As a result of the impact from the collision, the Vectra collided with two men who were standing at the side of the flyover next to their own car, which had broken down.

The two men, aged 46 and 45, were taken to hospital with serious injuries which resulted in the 45-year-old man having his leg amputated. They both remain in hospital.

The occupants of the Vectra – a driver and a passenger – were not injured.

The BMW stopped at the scene, however the male driver ran off prior to the arrival of emergency services. 

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath are investigating and they have carried out extensive enquiries, including reviewing local CCTV cameras. 

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision, who may have seen the BMW – vehicle registration M33 ONH – in the area before the collision, or who was driving in the area at the time and is yet to speak with police to contact them.

They would also like to hear from anyone who has dashcam footage.

+ A 25-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday, 10 January at an address in Dagenham on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation.

Man jailed for manslaughter

A man has been sentenced for manslaughter following the death of Clemuth Roberts in Dagenham in December 2016. 

Ben Harper, 21 (28.08.1996), from Romford was sentenced to 12 years’ imprisonment at the Old Bailey on Monday, 5 February. 

He was also given an extended sentence of five years on license.

Police were called just before 13:00hrs on 19 December 2016 to Stanhope Road, Dagenham following reports of a fight. 

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found 58-year-old Clemuth suffering from assault related injuries.

He died at the scene a short while later.

A post mortem examination was carried out at Queens Hospital and the cause of death was given as blunt force trauma to the head.

On Tuesday 26 September, 2017, Harper was charged with the murder of Clemuth Roberts.

On Thursday, 18 December Harper pleaded not guilty to murder but offered a plea of guilty to manslaughter which was formally accepted at the Old Bailey on Monday, 8 January. 

DI Justin Howick said: “This was a violent attack with tragic consequences which has had a devastating impact on Mr Roberts’ family.”

Mr Roberts’ daughter, Simone, said: “No sentence will take away our daily pain of losing a loved father and grandfather. We are the ones living with a life sentence.”

+ A 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl who were arrested on suspicion of murder were later released with no further action.

Detectives investigating the murder of Seyed Khan, 49, have charged a man.

Mr Khan, from Thamesmead, was formally identified today, Monday 5 February.

Imran Muhammad, 30 (08.04.87), of Swindon Close, Ilford, was charged with the murder of Mr Khan and perverting the course of justice on Saturday, 3 February.

He appeared in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 5 February. He has been remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, 7 February.
