After Visiting Flood-Stricken New Mexico, Secretary Noem Announces Over $11 Million in Disaster Relief Funding

Source: US Department of Homeland Security

DHS rushed immediate disaster relief funding to New Mexico following deadly flooding

RUIDOSO, NM – Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem announced another $11.4 million in disaster relief funding for disaster recovery projects in Ruidoso, New Mexico after floods in July that that killed three people.

Secretary Noem announced the additional funding during her visit to Ruidoso, which was most impacted by the floods. She had previously announced $3.1 million of upfront aid to the state, along with more than 160 emergency management staff who are to remain in the area. And, after President Trump signed an Emergency Disaster Declaration and a Major Disaster Declaration in response to the flooding, an additional $2.9 million in funding was unlocked to help families rebuild.

“Under the Trump Administration, FEMA is faster and more responsive than ever,” said Secretary Noem. “We’re seeing that in Ruidoso, and we will stand with New Mexico until full recovery is achieved.”

In July, sudden heavy rainfall caused the Rio Ruidoso to rise a record breaking 20 feet in only 30 minutes. The disaster claimed 3 lives and caused widespread damage to the impacted area.

This disaster funding will help New Mexico and the people of Ruidoso rebuild from this disaster by funding repairs to roads and bridges, clearing debris, and providing funding to families to rebuild what they lost.

This rapid response was made possible by President Trump’s and Secretary Noem’s efforts to make federal emergency management leaner, more effective, and more responsive by cutting red tape and eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse.

Source: US Department of Homeland Security

Following Alligator Alcatraz and Speedway Slammer, the Nebraska correctional facility marks the third state partnership to expand ICE detention space

WASHINGTON – Today, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced a new partnership with the state of Nebraska to expand ICE detention space by up to 280 beds. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is partnering with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services, and these beds will be available at the Work Ethic Camp in McCook, Nebraska. The facility dubbed the “Cornhusker Clink” will house criminal illegal aliens arrested by ICE.

This agreement was made possible by the One Big Beautiful Bill. This law fully funded the 287(g) program and provided funding to secure 80,000 new beds for ICE to utilize when detaining and deporting the worst of the worst.

“COMING SOON to Nebraska: Cornhusker Clink. Today, we’re announcing a new partnership with the state of Nebraska to expand detention bed space by 280 beds,” said Secretary Noem. “Thanks to Governor Pillen for his partnership to help remove the worst of the worst out of our country. If you are in America illegally, you could find yourself in Nebraska’s Cornhusker Clink. Avoid arrest and self deport now using the CBP Home App.”

“Today the State of Nebraska is stepping up its support of President Trump’s and Secretary Noem’s immigration enforcement initiatives in several key ways,” said Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen. “I am pleased that our facility and team in McCook can be tasked with helping our federal partners protect our homeland by housing criminal illegal aliens roaming our country’s communities today. I am also proud that the Nebraska State Patrol and National Guard will be assisting ICE enforcement efforts, as well. Homeland security starts at home, and, just as when I twice deployed troops to secure our southern border during the failed Biden administration, Nebraska will continue to do its part.”

Additionally, the Nebraska State Patrol announced its intent to sign a 287(g) agreement empowering its Nebraska State Troopers to help ICE get these criminal illegal aliens off our streets. Moreover, Gov. Pillen ordered the Nebraska National Guard to provide administrative and logistical support to Nebraska-based ICE officials in enforcing immigration laws. Approximately 20 Army National Guard soldiers will participate in this mission, commencing training within the next week.

News Outlets Ignore DHS Social Media Posts Highlighting the Victims of Criminal Illegal Aliens

Source: US Department of Homeland Security

The media spends more time covering DHS social media posts of paintings and art than covering the stories of the American victims whose lives have been destroyed by criminal illegal aliens

WASHINGTON—On the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) social media accounts, DHS highlights criminal illegal aliens and their American victims every single day. Instead of telling these horrific and tragic stories, the media chooses to write stories on how artists are not happy with our social media and claims of appealing to “white identity.”

Below are just a few samplings of the “news” headlines:

“This gutter state of ‘journalism’ does a disservice to the American people. Every single day Americans are killed by illegal aliens who should have never been in this country. And nearly every single day the media ignore these victims,” said Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. “Where is the media’s obsession with our social media posts on Rachel Morin’s killer being sentenced to life in prison? Where is their coverage on the DHS video of Katie Abraham’s mom and dad telling their heartbreaking story of their daughter being killed in a hit and run by an illegal? Where is the story on the two high school sweethearts killed by an illegal alien drinking and driving in Wisconsin?”

Here is just a sampling of the posts the media failed to cover:

The real reason the media is obsessed with covering DHS’ social media is Secretary Noem’s message is directly reaching the American people and the media can no longer throttle the truth.

DHS reaches approximately 40+ million Americans weekly through strategic social media content covering critical national security topics. DHS social media reach has grown 13x in just six months, from 3.5 million weekly impressions in February to 46.1 million in July 2025. This exponential growth demonstrates the Department’s enhanced ability to effectively communicate critical information to the American public.

Madagascar Shows Commitment to Improving Cancer Care, with Focus on Women’s Health

Source: International Atomic Energy Agency – IAEA

The most common cancer among women in Madagascar is cervical cancer, with a mortality rate of 30 per cent, followed by breast and colorectal cancers. In men, prostate, liver cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma are the most common cancers, driven by infectious diseases.

The team assessed all elements that can impact cancer care in the country. These include factors such as governance, resources and regulatory frameworks for radiation safety, and components such as surveillance, referral networks, early diagnostic capacities, oncology workforce development opportunities, and readiness for advanced and expanded radiotherapy services.

“The strength of the imPACT review lies in its analysis of the entire cancer continuum,” said Laurent Musango, WHO Representative in Madagascar. “The assessment reveals a solid foundation for integrating cancer control at the community level, and the potential for an overall strengthening of health systems in terms of prevention and early diagnosis.”

The review found that Madagascar has been steadfast in boosting cancer services since a previous assessment in 2015. The country has expanded cervical cancer prevention, with pre-cancerous lesion screening already available and HPV vaccination set to start in October and has undertaken important efforts to modernize and distribute imaging services.

The national health system also has an established and overall qualified health workforce, with six faculties of medicine available to train specialized health professionals – particularly in surgery, a critical aspect in cancer treatment.

U.S. Marshals Arrest Illegal Alien Wanted in Three Vehicle Homicides in Florida

Source: US Marshals Service

Washington, DC – The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) arrested Harjinder Singh in Stockton, California, on three counts of Vehicle Homicide, August 16.

Singh, 28, was wanted by the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) for allegedly operating a semi-truck that attempted to make a U-Turn and crossed directly in front of a vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash into the trailer and killing three people in the vehicle. The crash happened on Florida’s turnpike in St. Lucie County August 12, 2025.

An investigation revealed Singh and his passenger, Harneet Singh, flew to Sacramento, California, August 13. An arrest warrant was issued August 15. He allegedly entered the United States illegally in 2018 and obtained a California Commercial Driver’s License.

U.S. Marshals received the warrant and associated information from FHP August 16 and collateral lead was sent to the Eastern District of California. U.S. Marshals and Task Force Officers responded to an address associated with Singh in Stockton. They identified Singh as the lone occupant of a vehicle that arrived during surveillance of the location.

Singh was taken into custody without incident. He was booked at the San Joaquin County Jail to await initial appearance. An immigration detainer was also filed on behalf of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“Our great Director of the U.S. Marshal Service, Gadyaces Serralta, has worked incredibly hard to support the Florida Highway Patrol and apprehend this dangerous illegal alien who will now face justice,” said U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Sanctuary states like California must end their lawless policies to protect innocent American lives.”

“This priority effort was a cross country, multi-state and multi-agency success”, said USMS Director Gadyaces S. Serralta. “This again proves our dedication to bring criminals to justice for what they have done no matter where they run.”

Trump Administration Fights for America’s Economic and National Security, Designating New Chinese Industry Sectors as High-Priority for Enforcement under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act

Source: US Department of Homeland Security

America adds steel, copper, lithium, caustic soda, and red dates as high-priority sectors for enforcement under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act which restricts Chinese goods made with forced labor from entering the U.S.

WASHINGTON – Today, the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) bolstered America’s economic and national security by adding steel, copper, lithium, caustic soda, and red dates as high-priority sectors for enforcement under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) which restricts Chinese goods made with forced labor from entering the United States.

“America has a moral, economic, and national security duty to eradicate threats that endanger our nation’s prosperity, including unfair trade practices that disadvantage the American people and stifle our economic growth. The Trump administration is taking action,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. “The use of slave labor is repulsive and we will hold Chinese companies accountable for abuses and eliminate threats its forced labor practices pose to our prosperity.”

DHS serves as the chair of the Forced Labor Enforcement Task Force (FLETF) and each year updates the UFLPA’sStrategy to Prevent the Importation of Goods Mined, Produced, or Manufactured with Forced Labor in the People’s Republic of China (UFLPA Strategy) in order to protect the American people.

This year’s UFLPA Strategy also highlights enhancements made to enforcement by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). As of August 1, 2025, CBP has stopped more than 16,700 shipments valued at almost $3.7 billion for further examination under the UFLPA. Of these, more than 10,000 shipments valuing almost $900 million have been denied entry, keeping these suspected illicit goods out of U.S. markets.

The 144 entities on the UFLPA Entity List were identified as using or facilitating forced labor of Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities from the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The Trump Administration will continue to hold companies who use or facilitate modern-slavery accountable for their human rights violations by prohibiting their goods from access to our markets.

The 2025 Updates to the UFLPA Strategy and a Fact Sheet are available on DHS’ UFLPA website
