Bay Roberts — Bay Roberts RCMP investigates theft of utility trailer

Bay Roberts RCMP is investigating the theft of a utility trailer which was stolen while parked in a wooded area near Cat Hills Road in Bay Roberts.

On September 22, 2023, police received the report of the theft which is believed to have happened recently.

A picture of the trailer is attached. The investigation is continuing.

Minto — Missing 15-year-old girl

The Minto RCMP is asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 15-year-old girl from the community.

Chloe Robbins was last seen on September 23, 2023, near a residence on Evans Drive, in Minto, N.B. She was reported missing to police the same day. Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate her, but so far have been unsuccessful. Police and her family are concerned for her wellbeing.

Chloe Robbins is described as being approximately five feet (152 centimetres) tall, and weighing approximately 100 pounds (45 kilograms). She has blue eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater and black pants.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Minto RCMP at 506-327-1820.

Cross Lake — Update- Cross Lake RCMP investigate hit and run

The woman in the video has been identified. RCMP would like to thank the public and media for their assistance.
The investigation is ongoing.


On September 20, 2023, at 6:10 am, Cross Lake RCMP received a report of a hit and run collision that had occurred earlier that morning at 12:30 am, in the community.

The investigation has determined that at approximately 12:30 am, two adults were walking on the main road, near Family Foods, when a vehicle leaving the parking lot of the Cross Lake Inn, struck the two adults and fled the scene.

Both victims were taken to hospital. The 59-year-old female suffered serious injuries and was transported out of the community for treatment. The 59-year-old male suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Winnipeg.

RCMP have obtained surveillance video of a female and are hoping to identify her as she may have information on the incident.

Moncton — Missing 16-year-old boy

The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public’s help locating a missing 16-year-old boy from Moncton, N.B.

Xavier De LaFontaine was last seen on September 22, 2023 at approximately 2:13 p.m. at a residence on Snow Avenue in Moncton. He was reported missing to police on September 23. Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate him, but have so far been unsuccessful. Police and his family are concerned for his wellbeing.

Xavier De LaFontaine is described as being approximately five feet seven inches (171 centimetres) tall, and weighing approximately 120 pounds (54 kilograms). He has brown eyes, and short black hair. He was last seen a black ball cap, a black t-shirt, black pants and red and black sneakers.

Moncton — Missing 15-year-old girl

The Codiac Regional RCMP is asking for the public’s help locating a missing 15-year-old girl from Moncton, N.B.

Kyley Edgar was last seen on September 22, 2023, at approximately 8:30 a.am., near Fulton Crescent in Moncton. She was reported missing to police the same day. Police have followed up on several leads to try and locate her, but have so far been unsuccessful. Police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Kyley Edgar is described as being approximately five feet three inches (160 centimetres) tall, and weighing approximately 115 pounds (52 kilograms). She has blue eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black and white jacket, tie-dye shirt, and gray sweatpants.

St. Stephen — SiRT investigating following injury to individual during arrest

The New Brunswick RCMP has requested the Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) to review police actions where an individual sustained injuries during an arrest in St. Stephen, NB.

On September 20, 2023, at approximately 2:30 p.m., while dealing with an unrelated matter, members of the St. Stephen RCMP observed a man on Union Street, whom they believed to have outstanding arrest warrants. The man fled from police on foot into a near-by wooded area. RCMP Police Dog Services and an RCMP Remotely Piloted Aerial System (RPAS) operator were called and assisted with the search for the man.

RCMP Police Dog Services located and arrested the individual, who sustained minor injuries. The man was taken to hospital for medical treatment. He was later released from the hospital and was remanded into police custody.

Following further review of the events, the New Brunswick RCMP has referred the incident to SiRT for an independent investigation.

The investigation is continuing.

Lumsden — Lumsden RCMP investigating report of luring incident at Regina Beach

On September 21, 2023 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Lumsden RCMP received a report of a potential child luring on 5th Ave in Regina Beach, SK.

Initial investigation determined that around 8:45 p.m. September 21, a lone male driving a dark blue or black-coloured four-door car approached two male youth who were on foot and asked them multiple times if they wanted a ride. The two youth were able to return to a safe location and did not report any injuries to police. The car sped away.

The man is described as being between 40-50 years old with a round face. There are no clothing descriptors or license plate available.

Lumsden RCMP responded immediately and conducted patrols in the community. The vehicle was not located.

Lumsden RCMP are requesting parents and guardians speak with their children about exercising caution if approached by strangers in a vehicle. If this vehicle is seen, do not approach and report this to your local police service immediately.

Lumsden RCMP are continuing to investigate, including gathering additional information about the vehicle and the driver. If you have home or doorbell video surveillance with a view of 5th Avenue in Regina Beach, please check any footage from between 8:00-9:00 p.m. September 21 and report any sightings of this car or incident to the Lumsden RCMP.

The Pas — The Pas RCMP respond to dispute and seize firearm parts and drugs

On September 20, 2023, at approximately 2:25 am, RCMP responded to a dispute at a residence in The Pas.

Officers attended and were advised a male at that location was uttering threats. He was arrested without incident. While officers were in the home they noticed firearms parts, drugs, and drug paraphernalia.

Officers seized the firearms parts which included barrels, a stock, bullets and magazines.

They secured the residence and obtained a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

A search of the home resulted in the seizure of a cross bow, homemade weapons, approximately 40 grams of cocaine, a small quantity of methamphetamine, prescription medication and drug paraphernalia.

A 28-year-old female is facing a charge of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. She was released from custody with an upcoming court date.

Joshua Courchene, 30, has been charged with:

Uttering Threats x3
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Weapons Possession Contrary to and Order x4

He was remanded into custody.

The Pas RCMP continue to investigate.

Sheet Harbour — Missing person: Help the RCMP find Benjamin Lowe

Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 21-year-old Benjamin “Ben” Lowe, who was last seen September 18 on East River Rd. in Sheet Harbour.

Lowe is described as 5-foot-8, 140 lbs. He has blond hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie.

Investigators believe Lowe may be driving a black Hyundai Elantra displaying a temporary permit.

Beechwood — 30-year-old man charged following domestic disturbance

A 30-year-old man from Tobique First Nation, N.B., has been charged following a domestic disturbance in Beechwood.

On September 15, 2023, members of the Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Beechwood. When police arrived, a man attempted to flee the scene, but was arrested a short time later following a foot pursuit with police. Police also seized a handgun that was located nearby the suspect.

Subsequent to the arrest, the man was placed in the back of a police vehicle where he then became very aggressive, causing damage to the police vehicle.

On September 18, Philip Sappier-Solomon appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court, and was charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a restricted firearm without a licence
  • Two counts of uttering threats
  • Two counts of assault
  • Two counts of mischief and damage to property
  • Possession of a restricted weapon while prohibited
  • Possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence
  • Being an occupant of a motor vehicle while knowing there was a firearm within the vehicle
  • Possession of a restricted firearm and ammunition without a licence
  • Assault with a weapon

Philip Sappier-Solomon returned to court on September 19, and was remanded into custody until his next appearance on September 28.

Members of the Woodstock Police Force and RCMP Police Dog Services also assisted with this investigation.
