Chester Grant — Lunenburg County District RCMP charge a man with numerous weapons offences

Lunenburg County District RCMP has charged a man with numerous weapons offences after executing a search warrant at a home in Chester Grant.

On December 8, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Lunenburg County District RCMP was called to assist EHS after paramedics responded to an unknown emergency involving a man.

At the scene, an officer quickly noticed that the man was wearing what appeared to be body armour. The officer approached the man, but he pushed the officer back before leaving the ambulance and entering into a nearby residence. A few minutes later, the man came back outside where he was safely arrested.

Later that evening, the Lunenburg County District RCMP General Investigation Section, assisted by Lunenburg County District RCMP General Duty, executed a search warrant at a home on Grand Lake Rd.

At the residence, officers seized numerous unsecured weapons, a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition, body armour and a ghillie suit.

Joel Isaiah Hallier, 30, of Halifax, faces 25 charges including but not limited to:

  • Resisting Arrest
  • Unsafe Storage of Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Failure to Comply with Conditions of a Release Order

Hallier was remanded into custody and will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on January 9 at 9:30 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected

Harcourt  — 65-year-old man dies following single-vehicle crash

A 65-year-old man from Tilley Road, N.B., has died following a single-vehicle crash in Harcourt, N.B.

On December 16, 2024, at approximately 1:34 a.m., members of the Richibucto RCMP, Harcourt Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Route 126, in Harcourt.

The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver lost control of his vehicle and left the roadway. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

A New Brunswick RCMP Collision Reconstructionist and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office are also assisting with the investigation, and an autopsy will be scheduled to determine the man’s exact cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.

Whitbourne  — Whitbourne RCMP investigates theft of copper wire at NL Hydro communication site near Long Harbour, seeks assistance identifying suspects

Whitbourne RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred on December 8, 2024, at a NL Hydro communications site located on the Trans-Canada Highway near the turnoff to Long Harbour. A quantity of copper wire was stolen.

On December 10, 2024, police received the report of the crime. Surveillance footage shows three masked individuals who arrived at the scene in a SUV at approximately 3:30 a.m. on December 8. The suspects forced access inside the gated area and stole a quantity of copper wire.

The vehicle is described as being dark in color and with a burnt-out driver side tail light.

The investigation is continuing.

RM of West St Paul — Update – Selkirk RCMP looking for missing woman

Kenleigh Redhead has been safely located. The RCMP thanks the public and the media for their assistance.

On December 3, 2024, at 1:30 am, Selkirk RCMP received a report of a missing 18-year-old female from a residence located on Addis Avenue in the RM of West St Paul.

Kenleigh Redhead, 18, was last seen on December 2 at 12:00 pm at her home.

Redhead is described as 5’10”, medium build with brown eyes and black hair. No clothing description was provided. She’s believed to be in the City of Winnipeg.

Deer Lake — Deer Lake RCMP investigates break, enter and theft at Pizza Delight in Deer Lake

Deer Lake RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft that occurred at a restaurant in Deer Lake.

Shortly after 9:00 a.m. on December 13, 2024, Deer Lake RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at the Pizza Delight restaurant located on Commerce Street in Deer Lake. The crime occurred sometime between the evening of December 12 and the morning of December 13.

Police attended the scene and observed damage to the side door of the business. Suspect(s) entered the property and stole a quantity of liquor and beer from inside.

The investigation is ongoing.

Moncton  — 32-year-old woman and 43-year-old man die following head-on collision

A 32-year-old woman, and a 43-year-old man,have died following a head-on collision on Highway 15 in Moncton, N.B.

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:28 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a head-on collision between two vehicles on Highway 15, in Moncton.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 32-year-old woman from Moncton, N.B., was transported to hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries. The two passengers in her vehicle were transported to hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 43-year-old man from Moncton, N.B., was transported to hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. The two passengers in his vehicle were also transported to hospital, with what are believed to be serious injuries.

The collision is believed to have occurred when the first car was travelling eastbound in the westbound lane of Highway 15 and collided head-on with the second vehicle.

Members of the Moncton Fire Department, Ambulance New Brunswick, New Brunswick’s Coroner’s office, and an RCMP collision reconstructionist also attended the scene. The Remotely Piloted Aircraft System was also deployed to assist with the investigation.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death for both the woman and the man.

The investigation is ongoing.

The Pas — The Pas RCMP investigating shooting

On December 15, 2024, at approximately 10:40 am, The Pas RCMP received a report of a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex located on Cathedral Avenue in The Pas.

Officers immediately attended to the scene and located a 42-year-old male in the stairwell suffering from a gun shot wound to his lower body.

Witnesses reported two male suspects fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical but stable condition and was later life-flighted to Winnipeg for further treatment.

The Pas RCMP have issued a Warrant of Arrest for Darcy Campbell, 26, of Mosakahiken Cree Nation, who has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharge Firearm with Intent and numerous other firearms-related offences in relation to this shooting.

Holyrood — RBC in Holyrood destroyed by backhoe during break and enter, four individuals arrested

Holyrood RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft at the RBC bank in Holyrood. A stolen backhoe was used to access the property, causing extensive damages. Four individuals were arrested overnight.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on December 16, 2024, Holyrood RCMP received the report of the commercial break and enter that just occurred at the RBC bank on Conception Bay Highway. Officers arrived at the scene moments after the report and observed that the business was heavily damaged by a backhoe, which was abandoned at the scene. Information suggested two other vehicles, a dump truck and a pickup truck, were involved in the crime and fled the scene. Assistance was requested of the RNC with the vehicle descriptions provided.

A short time later, the RNC located the described suspect vehicles, which were heading east on the Trans-Canada Highway, near Paddy’s Pond. Both vehicles were stopped. Holyrood RCMP joined the RNC at the traffic stops and arrested four individuals in relation to this crime. The two vehicles, a dump truck and a pickup truck, were seized. An ATM was recovered from the dump truck. The backhoe, which was stolen from a business in Holyrood prior to this crime, was also seized as part of this investigation.

The investigation is continuing with charges anticipated.

West Dover — Police seek information regarding home invasion

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a home invasion that occurred in West Dover.

On December 13, at approximately 7:35 p.m., RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment responded to a report of a home invasion on West Dover Rd. Investigators learned that two men armed with knives had forced their way into the home. Once inside, one of the two occupants was restrained while the second was instructed to open a safe. The suspects then fled the area.

The occupants, a 77-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, did not did not suffer physical injuries.

Officers, assisted by RCMP Police Dog Services, patrolled the area but the suspects were not located.

One male suspect is described as 6-foot-4 and of stocky build. He was wearing a mask and was dressed in black.

The second male suspect is described at 5-foot-8 and stocky. He was wearing camouflage pants, a black top and a mask.

The investigation, led by the General Investigative Section of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance from RCMP Forensic Identification Services, is ongoing. At this time, officers do not believe the home invasion was random.

RM of Headingley — Update – Headingley RCMP searching for missing teen

On December 2, 2024, at approximately 4 :30 pm, Headingley RCMP received a call about a missing 14-year-old female.

Brooke Kenny, resides at an address in the RM of Headingley, and has not been heard from since approximately 12:00 pm, on December 2, 2024

Brooke was supposed to meet with someone at the 7-11 in the 1100 block of Portage Avenue in Winnipeg, and is believed to still be in Winnipeg.

Brooke is approximately 5 feet tall, 105 pounds, with black hair. She was last seen wearing a black hoodie, light green jacket with fur on the hood, and red and black pajama pants.
