On December 16, 2024, at 3:00 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing 26-year-old male from a residence located on Brandon Crescent in Thompson.

Kinkaid Thomas, from Bunibonibee Cree Nation, was last seen earlier in the morning on December 16, at approximately 12:05 am, and he has yet to make contact with friends or family.

He’s described as being 5’9″, 160lbs with brown hair & brown eyes & has a moustache. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket and black pants.

Thompson — Thompson RCMP searching for missing 43-year old female

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 12:45 pm, Thompson RCMP received a report of a missing 43-year-old female from Split Lake.

Genevieve Mayham, was last seen on December 24, 2024, at a residence on Cambridge Street in Thompson.

The RCMP are concerned for her wellbeing.

Genevieve is approximately 5’5″, 190 pounds, with shoulder length black hair, and a scar on the left side of her upper lip. She was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, and black pants.

Rosetown — Rosetown RCMP investigating fatal collision

On December 24, 2024 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Rosetown RCMP received reports of a collision on Highway #7, west of Rosetown.

Officers immediately responded. Investigation determined two semis jackknifed on the road. An SUV struck one of the semis, while other vehicles left the roadway while trying to avoid them.

A passenger of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. She has been identified as a 25-year-old from Calgary. Her family has been notified. The adult male driver was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

No other significant injuries were reported to police.

Highway #7 was closed during initial investigation, but has since re-opened. Rosetown RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.

Muskoday First Nation — Prince Albert RCMP investigating serious assault

On December 27, 2024 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a serious assault that occurred on the Muskoday First Nation.

Officers responded and located an injured adult female. She was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious in nature.

Prince Albert RCMP continue to investigate.

Waskesiu/Montreal Lake RCMP continue to search for 45-year-old William Bird, who was reported missing to them in June 2024.

It’s been more than a year since he was in touch with loved ones, who say he was last known to be in the Prince Albert area.

William is described as approximately 5’6″ tall and 130 lbs. He has brown eyes, black hair and a goatee. William has a triangle tattoo on his left arm. A photo of him is attached.

William is known to travel to the Montreal Lake, La Ronge and Prince Albert areas, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

On June 19, 2024, Montreal Lake RCMP received a report of a missing 45-year-old male, William Bird.

William was last in contact with loved ones on December 1, 2023. At that time, it was believed William was in the Prince Albert area. Since he was reported missing, Montreal Lake RCMP have been checking places William is known to visit and following up on information received. They are now asking members of the public to report information on William’s whereabouts.

Bonavista — Bonavista RCMP responds to two-vehicle collision in Catalina, one driver arrested for impaired operation

Following a collision involving a car and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on December 24, 2024, in Catalina, Bonavista RCMP arrested a man for impaired driving.

On Tuesday, at approximately 12:45 a.m., Bonavista RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a car and an ATV in Catalina on Route 230. Both drivers were transported to hospital for assessment. The driver of the ATV, a 52-year-old man, showed signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. The other driver was released from hospital with no major injuries.

The man’s ATV was seized and impounded, his license suspended, and he is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. The driver of the ATV was also issued a summary offence ticket for operating an ATV without a helmet.

Impaired driving is a choice that unnecessarily places the driver and all others who share the roadway at an increased level of risk. If you suspect an individual is driving while impaired, please immediately call your local police or 911 to make a report.

Upper Sackville  — RCMP respond to fatal two-vehicle collision

An individual has died following a two-vehicle collision in Upper Sackville, N.B.

On December 27, 2024, at approximately 11:30 a.m., members of the Sackville RCMP, Sackville Fire Department, Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, Department of Justice and Public Safety and Ambulance New Brunswick responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Route 940 in Upper Sackville.

The crash is believed to have occurred when a vehicle, travelling northbound, crossed the centreline and collided with a vehicle travelling southbound. The driver and sole occupant of the first vehicle, a 77-year-old man from Midgic, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver and the occupant of the second vehicle were transported to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

A New Brunswick RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist and a member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s Office are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy will be scheduled to determine the driver’s exact cause of death.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

RM of Elton — Update – Blue Hills RCMP searching for missing 78-year-old female

On December 25, 2024, at 8:30 pm, Blue Hills RCMP received a report of a missing 78-year-old female.

Rita Anne Mawer, 78, who goes by “Anne”, told her family she was returning home from Brandon. She left at 5 pm and is believed she may have gotten lost with the fog in the area. She resides near Alexander.

She was last seen in her vehicle around 9:30 pm heading eastbound on Provincial Road 259, driving towards Rivers in her dark green colored 2014 Honda CRV with Manitoba plate GXC 479 (stock photo attached).

Her family and RCMP have been searching the roads in the area without success.

Economy — Colchester County District RCMP charges man with firearms offences

Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man with firearms offences after a firearm was discharged inside a home in Economy on Christmas Day.

On December 25, at approximately 6:15 p.m., Colchester County District RCMP received a report that a firearm had been discharged inside a home on Etta Dr. in Economy. Responding officers learned there was an altercation between a man and woman known to each other inside the home, and immediately after the altercation, the man had discharged a firearm. No injuries resulted from the shot fired.

Officers seized two firearms and safely arrested the man at the home. During the arrest, the man attempted to strike one of the responding officers multiple times.

Tony Fleming Hingley, 61, of River John, has been charged with Careless Use of Firearm, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Resist Arrest, and Failure to Comply with Order (two counts). He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on December 27.

The Pas — Update – The Pas RCMP investigating shooting

In the early morning hours of December 19, 2024, The Pas RCMP received information that Darcy Campbell, wanted in connection with the December 15 shooting at the apartment complex located on Cathedral Avenue, was seen re-entering the same property.

Officers immediately attended to the area and, with assistance of Police Dog Services, contained the apartment complex.

Upon arrival of the RCMP Emergency Response Team, entry was made into the apartment where Darcy Campbell, 26, was arrested without incident.

He was remanded into custody on charges including Aggravated Assault and a number of firearm-related offences.

The Pas RCMP continue to investigate.


On December 15, 2024, at approximately 10:40 am, The Pas RCMP received a report of a shooting that occurred at an apartment complex located on Cathedral Avenue in The Pas.

Officers immediately attended to the scene and located a 42-year-old male in the stairwell suffering from a gun shot wound to his lower body.

Witnesses reported two male suspects fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting.

The victim was transported to hospital in critical but stable condition and was later life-flighted to Winnipeg for further treatment.

The Pas RCMP have issued a Warrant of Arrest for Darcy Campbell, 26, of Mosakahiken Cree Nation, who has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Discharge Firearm with Intent and numerous other firearms-related offences in relation to this shooting.
