U.S. Navy Rescues Three Filipino Fishermen in the South China Sea

SOUTH CHINA SEA — On January 1, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m., the crew aboard the Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Cesar Chavez (T-AKE 14) rescued three fishermen in distress aboard a fishing vessel while transiting the South China Sea.
