Stratford — 21 Seniors Safely Evacuated from Stratford Fire

January 3, 2025, Stratford – On January 3 at 2:30 a.m. Emergency crews responded to a report of a fire at a seniors’ apartment complex on St. John Avenue in Stratford. All 21 residents were evacuated to the Stratford Emergency Services Building without incident. No one was injured in this incident but one resident went to hospital for other medical concerns. Red Cross officials attended to assist the residents. The Provincial Fire Marshal did attend and the fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time. Fire damages were contained to a small section of the building with smoke affecting larger areas.

Responding to this fire was the Cross Roads Fire Department with mutual aid from the Charlottetown Fire Department, Island EMS, Red Cross, the Provincial Fire Marshal and Stratford RCMP.
