Prince Albert RCMP was actively working to locate 29-year-old Glen Halkett, who escaped from the Prince Albert Penitentiary on December 31, 2024. The Correctional Service of Canada media release on this incident is available here.
On January 1 at approximately 11 a.m., officers were making proactive patrols in the community of Little Red River and observed Halkett in the driver’s seat of a vehicle, which was about to leave a residence.
They activated their emergency lights and approached the vehicle. It accelerated and sped past the police vehicle, striking the side of it. It then fled. The officers were not injured. The police vehicle was damaged.
Officers continued to search for Halkett. The suspect vehicle was later located, but Halkett was no longer with it.
As a result of continued investigation, Halkett is charged with:

He was previously charged with one count of escaping lawful custody, Section 145(1), Criminal Code and one count, being unlawfully at large, Section 145(1), Criminal Code, in relation to the escape from the penitentiary.
Saskatchewan RCMP is actively working to locate him and arrest him on these warrants.
Halkett is described as 5’8″ and 168 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He has a tattoo on his neck and under his left eye.
Officers observed him wearing a grey or light brown toque, a hoodie and a beige jacket.
