Wanted man 33-year-old Corey Killam was arrested after fleeing from Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP on December 11, 2024.
As part of a drug trafficking investigation involving Killam that was initiated overnight, officers worked at obtaining a search warrant to search a home in Grand Falls-Windsor.
At approximately 4:15 a.m. on December 11, 2024, while continuing the investigation, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle operated by Killam in the area of Bond Street in Grand Falls-Windsor. The vehicle failed to stop and fled from police in a dangerous manner. In the interest of public safety, police did not pursue the vehicle, which was located later that morning, abandoned behind a business. The uninsured vehicle was seized.
Following this, in continuing the drug trafficking investigation, a search warrant, authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, was obtained for a residence on Second Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor. Police surrounded the home and executed the search warrant. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Killam and a 29-year-old woman of Grand Falls-Windsor were arrested at the home without further incident. Officers located a quantity of drugs, drug paraphernalia and other items consistent with possession for the purpose of drug trafficking.
Killam attended court on December 11 and was remanded into custody. He is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Flight from police
- Dangerous operation
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance
- Failure to comply with a condition of a release order
The woman was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance.
