As a result of continued investigation, La Ronge RCMP located and arrested Wayne McLeod at an apartment in La Ronge on December 3.
Officers located and seized a sawed-off firearm at the apartment.
As a result of continued investigation, Wayne McLeod is charged with:
- one count, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition without license/registration, Section 95(1), Criminal Code;
- one count, possession of a prohibited weapon knowing possession is unauthorized, Section 92(2), Criminal Code; and
- two counts, weapons possession contrary to order, Section 117.01(1), Criminal Code.
He is scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on December 5, 2024.
Officers also arrested two individuals in the apartment, a youth male and an adult female, on outstanding warrants.
Officers from Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) and La Ronge Crime Reduction Team (CRT) assisted with this investigation.
