A 36-year old man from St. Stephen, N.B., has died following a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Oak Bay, N.B. A 25-year-old woman was later arrested in connection with the incident.
On September 1, 2024, at approximately 5:19 a.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP detachment responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle on Route 170 in Oak Bay. The victim, a 36-year-old man, had been struck by a vehicle and died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while two passengers in the vehicle were not injured.
The collision is believed to have occurred when the vehicle, travelling eastbound on route 170, collided with the pedestrian
Members of St. Stephen Fire Department and Ambulance New Brunswick attended the scene. A member of the New Brunswick Coroner’s office and an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
