Bell’s Point — La Ronge RCMP investigating fatal collision

On August 24, 2024 at approximately 6:45 a.m., La Ronge RCMP received a report of a single vehicle rollover on Lagoon Road in Bell’s Point, SK.

Officers responded immediately along with local EMS. A passenger in the vehicle was declared deceased by EMS at the scene. He has been identified as a 20-year-old male from La Ronge, SK. His family has been notified.

The driver and a second passenger were transported to hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.

As a result of continued investigation, an adult male was arrested.

24-year-old Terrance McKay from La Ronge is charged with:

  • one count, operation while impaired of motor vehicle causing death, Section 320.14(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death, Section 320.13(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, operation while impaired causing bodily harm, Section 320.14(2), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm, Section 320.13(2), Criminal Code.

Terrance McKay appeared in court in La Ronge on August 26, 2024.
