FBI Searching for Well-Dressed Serial Bank Robber

Derby Desperado Wanted for Offenses in Garland, Dallas

DALLAS—The FBI’s Dallas Division is seeking public assistance to identify an unknown bank robber, dubbed Derby Desperado, responsible for a July 3, 2024 bank robbery in Garland, Texas, and a second robbery in Dallas on July 12.

On July 3, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., an unknown suspect committed a bank robbery at the Texans Credit Union located at 7220 Telecom Parkway, Garland, Texas. The suspect walked to the counter, while speaking loudly on a mobile phone, and presented a robbery demand note to the teller. After obtaining a known amount of U.S. currency, the suspect walked to the exit and fled in a dark SUV.

On July 12, 2024, the same suspect committed a bank robbery at the Capital One Bank at 2903 Forest Lane, Dallas, Texas, at approximately 1:45 p.m. Similar to the July 3 offense, he presented a demand note and left the premises in a dark SUV.

The suspect is male, with light or white skin, green or hazel eyes, thick dark eyebrows, 5’7” to 5’9” with a stocky build, wearing a dark-colored suit, white shirt, dark tie with light-colored stripes, brown shoes, a light fedora-style hat with a dark band, a white KN95 (COVID) or surgical mask, and blue surgical gloves. During the Dallas robbery, he wore a dark-colored suit, a dark shirt, and a light or yellow tie.
