Macdowall — Suspect(s) on foot in St. Louis area – ongoing police investigation

Around 3:45 p.m. today, June 20, 2024, Prince Albert RCMP received a report of a person driving in a northbound SUV and possibly pointing a firearm at another vehicle traveling on Highway #11. No injuries were reported.

Upon locating the SUV, officers activated the police vehicle’s emergency equipment. The SUV sped off, evading police multiple times. Ultimately, RCMP officers located the vehicle abandoned in a treed area south of Macdowall, east of Highway #11.

Initial investigation has determined at least one vehicle occupant/suspect fled on foot. Their current whereabouts are unknown. We do not have any descriptions available of the suspect(s). A firearm has not been located and this investigation continues.

We are asking the public to please report any suspicious people or activity if you live in this area and ensure your homes and vehicles are locked. Call 911 in an emergency.

Supporting the Prince Albert RCMP’s ongoing police investigation is Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, Police Dog Services and other specialized units. RCMP officers continue to actively search the area on the north side of the South Saskatchewan River. The public can expect an increased police presence in the area due to this ongoing investigation.
