On April 3, 2024, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of an investigation after human remains were located in Rocky View County. The matter is being investigated as a homicide. The deceased was identified as 33-year-old Kyle Schuiling, a resident of Calgary.
On May 3, 2024, a 39-year-old individual, a resident of Calgary, was charged with the first-degree murder of Kyle Schuiling.
After a judicial interim hearing, and two subsequent court appearances, the individual has been remanded and will be appearing in Alberta Court of Justice in Calgary on May 27, 2024.
