Charges have been laid in relation to a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant executed at a residence in Airdrie’s South West. During the search of the residence, members of Airdrie’s Crime Reduction Unit found a hand gun, cocaine, fentanyl and cash.
A 20-year-old individual, a resident of Airdrie, was brought before a justice of the peace and released on $250 cash bail with conditions. The individual has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a restricted firearm without a license
- Possession of a weapon contrary to an order
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
The 20-year-old individual is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on March 28, 2024.
An 18-year-old individual, a resident of Airdrie, was brought before a justice of the peace and released on a $500 Promise to Pay with conditions. The individual has been charged with the following:
- Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl) for the purpose of trafficking
The 18-year-old individual is scheduled to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on April 18, 2024.

Police Presence in Airdrie’s South West
There was a large police presence in Airdrie this morning as a part of a police operation. Airdrie RCMP, along with the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in Airdrie’s South West. There is no risk to the public. Residents may notice a police presence in the area throughout the day.
