One man is deceased and search efforts are continuing for another man following a single-vehicle crash that occurred on April 3, 2024, on Route 470 between Burnt Islands and Rose Blanche.
Shortly before 7:00 p.m., Channel-Port aux Basques RCMP received the report of the crash indicating that a vehicle had departed the roadway and was submerged in a pond. One of the deceased was recovered from the water last evening. Search efforts are continuing for a second man believed to be an occupant of the vehicle. The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team and a Reconstructionist with RCMP Traffic Services have been deployed and are attending the scene today.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged and the investigation is continuing.
