On February 1, 2024, Loon Lake RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. Officers immediately responded and located an injured adult male, who was later pronounced deceased by EMS at the scene. 32-year-old Dedrick Stick’s death was determined to be a homicide and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes has been investigating since.
As a result of investigation, on March 9, 2024, 22-year-old Samuel Kiseyinewakup from Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation was arrested at the Prince Albert Correctional Centre by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes in relation to the death of Dedrick Stick.
Samuel Kiseyinewakup is charged with one count, second degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code.
He appeared in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
