Norway House — Norway House RCMP respond to firearms complaint

At approximately 4:00 pm on January 30, 2024, Norway House RCMP received a report of an individual pointing a firearm at a person in the townsite area of the community.

Officers immediately responded and located the suspect; however, he and two other individuals barricaded themselves within a residence and refused to exit.

Officers contained the area, as additional RCMP resources were deployed to the community.

At approximately 11:00 pm, with the assistance of the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS), Crisis Negotiator Team (CNT), and Police Dog Services (PDS), officers arrested two adult males and an adult female.

A 30-year-old male and a 27-year-old male, both of Norway House, are each facing multiple Criminal Code charges including Pointing a Firearm and Uttering Threats. They have been remanded into custody.

The female has been released without charges.
