Deer Lake — RCMP Traffic Services West arrests impaired driver near Bonne Bay Pond

A 47-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by RCMP Traffic Services West on the evening of November 2, 2023.

While on patrol on Route 430 near Bonne Bay Pond, an officer conducted a traffic stop. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed a roadside breath test and was arrested. Back at the detachment, the man provided further breath samples that were above the legal limit.

He was released from custody and is set to appear in court at a later date to answer to charges of impaired driving. His licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
