Bay Roberts — Bay Roberts RCMP seeks public’s assistance in locating vehicle suspected of hit and run

Bay Roberts RCMP is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle in relation to a pedestrian hit and run that occurred last night, October 1, 2023.

Just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday evening, police received a call reporting a hit and run on Main Road in Shearstown. Police attended the scene and located the pedestrian who was hit. The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are looking to identify a black single cab pickup truck, possibly a GMC, in relation to this incident.

Police are asking residents in the area of Pickett’s Road and Shearstown Road between Pickett’s Road and Route 70 to please review any surveillance footage for the suspected vehicle between 9:20 – 9:40 p.m. on Sunday night, October 1, 2023 for any video that may be helpful in identifying or locating the truck.
