Deer Lake — Deer Lake RCMP investigates break, enter and theft at Mr. Bishop’s store in Pasadena; stolen truck destroyed by fire

Deer Lake RCMP is investigating a break, enter and theft at Mr. Bishop’s convenience store in Pasadena that occurred early Monday morning. A stolen truck from Deer Lake, which is believed to have been used during the crime, was located engulfed in flames and was destroyed by the fire.

Shortly after 4:15 a.m. on September 4, 2023, police received the report of the break and enter. Suspect(s) entered the property through the front window of the business, which is believed to have been rammed by a vehicle. A safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen from inside.

A short time later, police received a report of a vehicle fire in a wooded area near Lakeside Drive in Pasadena. A 2015 black GMC Sierra truck, which was stolen sometime overnight from a residence on Riverview Place in Deer Lake, was located engulfed in flames.

The investigations are continuing.
