Police appeal for witnesses following indecent exposure in Sutton

Detectives have issued an image of a man they would like to speak to in relation to two exposure offences on a bus in Sutton.

Police are currently searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a group of young girls on Tuesday, 1 April and Tuesday, 8 April on the SL7 bus route towards Sutton.

On Tuesday, 1 April between 14:30hrs to 16:30hrs the man allegedly exposed his buttocks to a group of girls. It was reported that the man then started to smack himself while he was exposed.

A week later, on Tuesday, 8 April, another exposure offence was reported to police at the same location between 14:30hrs to 16:30hrs. It was reported that the man exposed his penis to a group of girls, before urinating in their direction before he shouted vulgar remarks.

Detective Constable Teresa Moore, from the Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “Both incidents have caused extreme concern to the victims involved and it is important for anyone with information comes forward to police in order for us to locate this man.

“If you recognise this man, then do not hesitate to get in contact with us. You can do so by calling 101 stating reference CAD 6071/01APR25. You can also remain anonymous by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“Our neighbourhood officers are currently carrying out extra patrols in the area to ensure the safety of all young women who may take this bus route. If you have any concerns about these incidents, then please do not hesitate to speak with any of our officers, we will provide you with advice and reassurance.”

An investigation remains on-going into the circumstances.
