KODIAK, Alaska — Media is invited to attend a virtual press briefing Friday with local, state and federal agencies regarding the search for 10 missing people who were aboard an aircraft that went missing Thursday approximately 30 miles southeast of Nome. The aircraft’s last known position was transponded Thursday evening in the vicinity of Norton Sound, approximately 30 miles southeast of Nome. Aircrews from the Coast Guard and Alaska National Guard responded Thursday night, with first light searches planned for Friday morning. The cause of the incident is unknown.
