On December 7, 2024, Saskatchewan RCMP located and arrested Jeremy Whitebear at a residence on White Bear First Nation. Jeremy Whitebear was wanted by Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes for one count, second degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code in relation to the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder.
Jeremy Whitebear was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on December 9, 2024.
Saskatchewan RCMP continue to work to locate 26-year-old Dwayne Maxie. Dwayne Maxie is described as approximately 6’2″ tall and 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. He also goes by the name ‘Georgie’. A photo of him is attached.
If you see Dwayne Maxie, do not approach him. Report all sightings and information about his whereabouts to Saskatchewan RCMP at 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

Update #2 – Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death

As a result of continued investigation, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes have identified and charged two adult males in relation to the death of 33-year-old Talon Lonethunder.
22-year-old Jeremy Whitebear from White Bear First Nation is charged with one count, second degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code.
26-year-old Dwayne Maxie from White Bear First Nation is charged with one count, manslaughter, Section 236(a), Criminal Code.
Warrants for the arrest of Jeremy Whitebear and Dwayne Maxie have been issued (Information #90533942 and #90533943). Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes continue to work to locate and arrest Jeremy Whitebear and Dwayne Maxie and ask members of the public to report all sightings and information about their whereabouts.
Jeremy Whitebear is described as approximately 5’10” tall and 160 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. He has multiple tattoos, including a cross on the side of his face, the word “faded” on his forehead, roman numerals on his left hand, and script on his left wrist. A photo of him is attached.
Dwayne Maxie is described as approximately 6’2″ tall and 250 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair. A photo of him is attached.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes advises that there will be a continued increased police presence on White Bear First Nation in relation to the investigation into the suspicious death of a 33-year-old adult male.
They continue to encourage anyone with information to contact police by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes investigating suspicious death

On December 3, 2024 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Carlyle RCMP received a report of an injured individual at a residence on White Bear First Nation.
Officers immediately responded and located a deceased adult male. The adult male has been identified as a 33-year-old from Coronach. His family has been notified.
The death is considered suspicious and Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took carriage of the investigation.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is asking anyone with information to report it immediately to local police by dialling 310-RCMP. Information can also be submitted anonymously by contacting Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
Investigators advise there will be an increased police presence on White Bear First Nation for an undetermined amount of time.
