Frenchman Butte.  — Three arrested after investigation into copper wire theft

On November 23, 2024, Turtleford RCMP received a report of a copper wire theft in the RM of Frenchman Butte. Investigation determined approximately 500 metres of copper wire was stolen from a work site.

As a result of continued investigation, officers arrested three adult males in Paradise Hill, SK on November 24.

22-year-old Declan Weinhandl from Paradise Hill is charged with:

  • one count, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code;
  • one count, theft over $5,000, Section 334(a), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

He was also arrested on warrants from Turtleford RCMP for assault causing bodily harm and failure to attend court.

He is scheduled to appear in court in St. Walburg on December 3, 2024.

30-year-old Colby Riguidel from Lloydminster is charged with:

  • one count, mischief over $5,000, Section 430(3), Criminal Code; and
  • one count, theft over $5,000, Section 334(a), Criminal Code.

He is scheduled to appear in court in St. Walburg on January 7, 2024.

26-year-old Austin Jezowski from Paradise Hill, SK is charged with one count, one count, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code.

He is scheduled to appear in court in St. Walburg on January 7, 2024.

This is the second time Turtleford RCMP has laid charges in relation to copper wire thefts in November.
