Further to a press release issued on October 17th, 2024, Fort McPherson RCMP have now charged a second suspect in relation to a home invasion that took place on October 16th in the community.
Abraham Stewart, also of Fort McPherson has been charged with:

Breaking, entering and committing an offence (2 counts), contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Failure to comply with undertaking conditions, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the Criminal Code

Robbery (2 counts), contrary to section 344 of the Criminal Code

Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the Criminal Code
· Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
· Forcible Confinement (2 counts), contrary to section 279(2) of the Criminal Code
· Flight from a peace officer, contrary to section 320.17 of the Criminal Code.
Stewart remains at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Nathan Francis, previously arrested and charged in this matter, appeared before a Justice of the Peace on October 19th, 2024 and was subsequently released to attend court in Inuvik on November 26th, 2024. He has been placed under conditions not to return to the community of Fort McPherson.
A publication ban has been issued regarding specific details pursuant to section 517 of the Criminal Code.
