Two Grand Falls-Windsor men are facing multiple charges following traffic stops by the RCMP.
On August 27, a traffic stop in Bishop’s Falls by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP resulted in several charges against 22-year-old Brady Benson after police found a quantity of suspected cocaine, illicit cannabis and several thousand dollars cash in the vehicle.
Benson was arrested and is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of cocaine
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of illicit cannabis
- Possession of illicit cannabis for the purpose of trafficking
- Failure to comply with a release order – two counts
Benson appeared in court on August 29, and was released under multiple conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court again in Grand Falls-Windsor on September 25, 2024. He also has 11 other charges before the court unrelated to this most recent matter.
On August 28, 19-year-old Jacob Gregory was arrested and charged following a traffic stop by Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP. Seized from the vehicle were a just over a pound of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia, several thousand dollars cash, contraband cigarettes and a loaded .22 caliber rifle, with the serial number removed. Gregory is charged with the following offences:
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
- Possession of a firearm with the serial number removed
- Possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of unstamped tobacco products
He appeared in court on August 29, and was released on a number of conditions. He is scheduled to appear in court again in Grand Falls-Windsor on October 9, 2024.
