On August 27, 2024 around 4:00 p.m., Maidstone RCMP received a report of a suspicious adult male who approached and was speaking with a young child at a playground at Sandy Beach Regional Park, which is located approximately 16 kilometers north of Lloydminster. The adult male was not known to the child and ran away after they were approached by the child’s parent.
The adult male is described as being Caucasian, approximately 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds with short brown hair. He was wearing navy-coloured running shoes with blue shorts, a grey t-shirt, sunglasses and a hat. They were also carrying a beach mat.
Extensive patrols were made in the area; however, officers were unable to locate the man.

Parents are encouraged to have a conversation with their children to let them know they do not have to speak with strangers and if they are approached by a stranger, they can leave immediately and tell a trusted adult.
