Natuashish — Natuashish RCMP arrests a youth in connection with arson

On August 26, 2024, Natuashish RCMP arrested a male youth in relation to a fire set in a residential area of the community.

The Natuashish RCMP has responded to several complaints over the last week in relation to fires being set on trees in the community. The last fire, set on August 26, led investigators to arrest a male youth for setting this fire. The investigation into the other fires is continuing.

The youth has been released and is scheduled to appear in court in November.

Fires can cause devastating impacts to communities, including loss of life, homes and businesses.
