Jackson Falls — 20-year old man charged with attempted murder

A 20-year-old man from Lakeland Ridges, N.B., has been charged following an incident in Jackson Falls.

On August 10, 2024, at approximately 10:55 p.m., members of the Western Valley Region RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence in Jackson Falls. When police arrived at the scene, they located a man suffering from serious injuries. The man was transported to hospital, and has since been released.

On August 12, a 20-year-old man from Lakeland Ridges was arrested in connection with the investigation.

On August 13, Riley Cowper appeared in Woodstock Provincial Court, and was charged with:

  • Attempted murder
  • Robbery
  • Uttering threats
  • Mischief

He was later remanded into custody, and is scheduled to return to court on August 27.

The investigation, led by members of the West District Community Crime Reduction Unit and the Western Valley Region RCMP, is ongoing.
