Sheshatshiu — Sheshatshiu RCMP investigates arson of personal property

Sheshatshiu RCMP is investigating reports of an arson that occurred outside of a residence this past weekend.

Just after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2024, Sheshatshiu RCMP responded to a call indicating that a Sea-Doo was on fire outside of a residence on Edwards Drive. As a result of the fire, the personal watercraft was totally destroyed and a boat and motor nearby were also damaged. The fire is considered suspicious in nature at this time.

Firefighters from the Sheshatshiu Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire. No one was injured. Police Dog Services responded to the scene, as well.

The investigation is continuing.
