Selkirk — Selkirk RCMP conduct traffic stop and seize cash, drugs and weapons

On May 19, 2024, at approximately 4:20 am, Selkirk RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Main Street, in Selkirk.

While the officer was speaking with the occupants of the vehicle he noticed a knife inside the vehicle and both the driver and passenger were arrested for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

A search of the vehicle and of the males was conducted and resulted in the seizure of over $4500.00 in cash, prescription medication, other suspected drugs and weapons.

The driver and passenger, aged 54 and 34, both from Selkirk, are facing a number of charges and were released from custody with an upcoming court date.
