RCMP Traffic Services Central ticketed a motorcycle driver for stunt driving on Airport Boulevard on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Police conducted a traffic stop after witnessing the driver of the motorcycle pop up the front tire of the motorcycle while driving for a distance of about 50 metres.
The driver was issued a ticket under the Highway Traffic Act for Performing a Stunt while Driving. His license was also suspended and his motorcycle was impounded.
May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month and RCMP NL reminds all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians that road safety is everyone’s responsibility throughout the year. Motorcycle operators should ensure that they obey the speed limit, wear approved helmets and drive within the rules of road.
