RCMP Headquarters PEI  — RCMP arrest 25 impaired drivers in March 2024

April 11, 2024, RCMP Headquarters PEI – RCMP across PEI arrested 25 impaired drivers in March of 2024. These investigations included 18 drug impaired investigations, 4 alcohol and 3 refusal to provide a breath sample. Note that many of these cases are awaiting blood sample results prior to charges being laid.

The total RCMP impaired driving arrest up to the end of March 2024, is 62. Last year RCMP in PEI made over 230 impaired arrests. If you see a suspected impaired driver call 911.

“Based on the number of impaired drivers we are encountering; some cannabis users are still not getting the message that it is not Ok to drive after using. Driving after consuming drugs or alcohol is a risk to everyone on PEI roadways. Don’t consume and drive.” says the PEI RCMP Commanding Officer Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis.
