As a result of Project Badminton, a 30-month investigation led by RCMP Federal Serious and Organized Crime, in partnership with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the RCMP-RNC Joint Force Operation West (JFO West), Dominic Delisle has been sentenced to seven years incarceration, after pleading guilty to the following charges:
- Obtaining Material Benefit from Sexual Services – Section 286 Criminal Code (CC)
- Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking – Section 5(2) Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – Section 88 CC
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – Section 91(1) CC
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon – Section 92(2) CC
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm in a Vehicle – Section 94(1) CC
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition – Section 95(1) CC
- Possession of a Firearm Contradictory to a Prohibition Order – Section 117 CC
With credit for time served since his arrest in 2022, Delisle has just over 1500 days left to serve. In addition, a lifetime firearms prohibition is imposed and he must submit to a mandatory DNA order.
