Whitehorse — Update to sexualized assault investigation in Whitehorse

The Yukon RCMP Specialized Response Unit (SRU) has arrested and charged a 28 year old male for sexual assault and sexual interference related to a June 2023 investigation.

He made his first appearance on March 20th, 2024 in Whitehorse Territorial Court. Police will not be releasing any further information about this matter to protect the identity of the victim.

  • SART: The Yukon’s Sexualized Assault Response Team (SART) provides a safe and confidential network of services that focus on needs and choices. SART is available to people of all genders, ages, and sexual orientation who have survived a sexualized assault or offence, to guide the process, provide referrals and supportive listening or be an ally.
  • Victims Services: Victim Services provides services and help for victims dealing with a range of different crimes, regardless of whether or not the victim has reported the crime, a charge has been laid, or there has been a conviction.
  • Third Party reporting: Third Party Reporting is an option for victims of sexualized assault who are 19 or older and have made the informed decision not to report to RCMP. It is available to women, men, and gender diverse people.
