Between February 11 and 22, 2024 the Haines Junction RCMP received 7 complaints for property related crime. Several residents reported having their vehicles entered with personal items stolen and there was one report of theft of a motor vehicle without consent.
Mayson Johnny Reindeer (age 22) has been charged with four counts of theft, five counts of Mischief Under $5000 and taking a motor vehicle without consent. His next court appearance is March 21, 2024 at 10 am in Haines Junction.
Haines Junction RCMP would like to thank residents for promptly reporting these crimes. A few tips to protect your vehicle from theft: turn off your vehicle and take the keys with you when you leave it; lock all the doors and close the windows; and do not leave valuables inside your vehicle.
