March 12, 2024, RCMP L Div Headquarters – RCMP across PEI have stopped 36 impaired drivers since January 1st; 19 of those drivers were stopped for impaired driving by cannabis, two this weekend at checkstops. Cannabis can affect your coordination, reaction time, and decision-making skills, all of which are crucial for safe driving. When it comes to impaired driving cannabis counts too, help keep all Islanders safe and don’t toke and drive.

“Impaired driving remains a priority that we are working hard to address. All Islanders can play a part in keeping our roads safe by not driving impaired by alcohol or cannabis,” says Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis Commanding officer of the PEI RCMP.
