Charlottetown — PEI RCMP actively seeking police officers from other Canadian agencies

There’s a short window of opportunity opening up for experienced police officers to join the PEI RCMP.

The RCMP Experienced Police Officer Program (E-POP) aims to facilitate the transfer over of officers from other agencies into the RCMP. The process is discreet, ensuring current employers are not contacted without a candidate’s prior approval. Candidates will equally receive the same salary, benefits, and career options as regular members, and their years of prior service will be recognized for vacation entitlements.

There is no other police force in Canada that provides the levels of services and variety of career options offered by the RCMP. There are over 150 policing career specializations across the RCMP with ongoing learning and growth potential. Candidates must have at least two years police service (or equivalent), have graduated from a recognized Canadian police training program, and meet the qualifications and requirements of a Regular Member applicant.

If you are an experienced police officer looking to join the RCMP, recruiting and staffing teams from the RCMP will help candidates all the way through the process, making it that much easier to transfer in.

Quote:

“We have a limited time opportunity now for applicants from other police forces to join our team on the Island. There are opportunities at detachments across PEI, and we’re looking for candidates with a variety of experiences to consider joining. The opportunities, salary, and benefits we offer, along with the continuing education the Force provides, makes the RCMP an excellent organization to be a part of.”

— Chief Superintendent Kevin Lewis, Commanding Officer PEI RCMP
