Close to one hundred snowmobiles and hundreds of cars were checked.
Results:
- Six charges laid under the Off-Highway Vehicle Act.
- Two charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
- A seven-day driving suspension and a three-day vehicle impound were issued for alcohol consumption while operating a motor vehicle.
- A 31-year-old man was arrested and charged for prohibited driving and breach of probation.
- A 60-year-old man was arrested and charged for impaired driving and consuming liquor in a motor vehicle.
Both the 31-year old and 60-year old drivers will appear in court in March to answer to the charges.
PEI RCMP and Conservation Officers would like to remind Islanders that alcohol and snowmobiles don’t mix. Impaired driving is impaired driving.
