On December 21, 2023, as part of an ongoing investigation, the Manitoba RCMP East District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team and the Emergency Response Team, attended an apartment building in Winnipeg to attempt to locate a male WANTED on three warrants.
As officers arrived, the suspect exited the building. An officer approached the suspect and advised him he was under arrest, however the suspect refused to listen to commands and got into a vehicle and tried to flee. He was stopped and arrested. The suspect vehicle was confirmed to be stolen out of Headingley.
Along with the outstanding warrants the 33-year-old male from Winnipeg was charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fail to Comply. He was remanded into custody.
This individual is a person of interest in a number of other property crime investigations and further charges are anticipated.
