God’s Lake Narrows — God’s Lake Narrows RCMP make arrest in firearm discharge

On December 1, 2023, at 2:25 pm, God’s Lake Narrows RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the community.

Officers attended to the home and observed damage to a window. The suspect, known to the victim, had fled the scene prior to police arrival and no injuries were reported.

Information was then received that the suspect, a 32-year-old male, had been located and arrested without incident by First Nation Safety Officer’s who then transferred custody of the suspect over to RCMP.

The investigation has determined that the suspect had attended to the residence earlier in the day and assaulted one of the residents. The suspect fled the scene after the assault and returned with a firearm and re-entered the home, which contained 7 occupants, including two young children. Several of the residents reported that the suspect had pointed the firearm at them before he fled. As the suspect exited the home, he discharged the firearm through a window.

A search of the suspect’s home led to the seizure of three firearms.

32-year-old Timothy Hastings, from God’s Lake Narrows, was remanded into custody for Assault Causing Bodily Harm, Point Firearm and numerous other firearm-related offences.
