November 09, 2023, Murray Harbour – Kings District RCMP arrested and laid 11 charges against a 33-year-old Murray Harbour man following an assault at a residence, theft at another residence and assault on a Police Officer.
On November 8, 2023, at 10:50 am, Kings District RCMP responded to an assault at a residence. Travis Charles Dunn of Murray Harbour left on foot before police arrived. Police continued their search for Dunn for much of the day and later learned that he had broken into a garage at a residence in Murray Harbour and stolen items from there.
At 7:25 pm, Kings District RCMP located Dunn in Murray Harbour and arrested him. As part of this arrest, Dunn resisted arrest and struck an officer, causing injuries. The Officer went to the hospital and was released a short time later. Dunn also damaged a police vehicle once in custody.
Dunn is being held in custody until tomorrow’s court appearance to answer to 11 charges of:
- Two counts Break and Enter in outbuilding, S 348(1)(b) CC
- Possession of Weapon for dangerous Purpose, Sec. 88(1) CC
- Utter threats to Cause death, Sec. 264.1(1)(a) CC
- Utter threats to cause damage, Sec. 264.1(1)(b) CC
- Resist Arrest, Sec. 129(a) CC
- Assault Police Officer and cause bodily Harm, Sec. 270.01(1)(b) CC
- Two counts of Mischief, Sec. 430(4)(b) CC
- Possession of Stolen Property, Sec. 354(1)(a) CC
- Breach of Probation, Sec. 733.1(1)(b) CC
Note he is also currently facing other unrelated criminal charges, including:
- Theft, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a schedule 1 drug – Kings District RCMP
- Theft and trespass at night in Charlottetown – Charlottetown Police.
